A muffled knock thudded against the door several hours later, sunlight beginning to filter through darkened curtains. Taehyung stiffened, listening to see who it was as the trio on the wide mattress began to rouse from slumber.

"We're okay now." Hoseok's words were barely audible through the thick door, "It's safe to come out."

Taehyung's gaze returned to the bed as Jungkook shuffled his head from underneath the blankets for the first time in hours. Their maknae was a sleeping beauty, fluffy, healthy hair sticking every which way as he blinked dark chocolate eyes open for the first time since last night, cheeks and nose glowing with a soft pink sheen that made him look oh so prettier. He didn't want to risk him coming to harm again, Taehyung thought briefly, I should keep him in here where I can keep him safe.

One glance at Seokjin, and Taehyung realized that wouldn't be possible with the way he was already staring at him with knowing eyes. Seokjin scanned over Jungkook's body, relief filling him when he noticed his lucid state, his maknae blinking owlishly at him. "Do you remember what happened, pup?"

Jungkook's brows furrowed in thought, "I- I fell, I think. My knees hurt."

Seokjin tried not to show his alarm as he further questioned Jungkook even as his expression dropped a little. He sent a prayer to the Moonlight Goddess, hoping Jungkook hadn't hit his head yesterday when hearing the uncertainty in Jungkook's own voice as he tried to remmeber what happened. "How'd you fall?"

"Kneeling. I was kneeling for alpha. For Yoongi-hyung." Jungkook clarified slowly as the pieces of last night came back to him. "He was angry, really really angry. I-I was sca–"

Jimin growled lowly under his breath, reminding Jungkook that his youngest packmates were present in the room. He couldn't risk them getting upset too. Not after such a wild night. He didn't have it in him to go through that again.

"Why was he angry?" Tarhyung asked gruffly from his protective stance at the door, nails flickering in length as they dug into the wood of the door while he attempted to hold back the instinctual need to protect Jungkook even when there was no longer a threat.

"He found my–" Jungkook fell silent abruptly as he pulled himself up to curl into a sitting position, knees coming up to his chest as he visibly paled.

"Jungkook-ah?" Jimin questioned from his side, sitting up as well to rest a hand on Jungkook's bruised knee, trying to catch the maknae's eyes as Jungkook dropped his head against his chest.

"Pup, what's wrong?" Seokjin's scent didn't betray his emotions this time, hand reaching to grasp Jungkook's cheek to turn his face towards himself. Jungkook took that as an opportunity to hide his face in Seokjin's large hand, turning into it to avoid looking at him. "We should take this downstairs. Get to the bottom of this as a pack, yeah?"

Jungkook didn't respond, but Seokjin hadn't expected him to. He pulled the blankets off of them and stepped out of bed, intending to carry Jungkook downstairs to avoid aggravating his injury, but Jungkook put his hands up as Seokjin reached out to pull him closer, stopping the older man in his tracks. "I can walk myself."

It was softspoken but steady in tone, leaving no room for discussion as he pushed himself up with his hands against the mattress to stand. Taehyung could sense the charged atmosphere in the air, instincts screaming at him to keep them there.

"Open the door, Taehyung-ah." Seokjin ordered after waiting a moment, "We can't keep them all day."

Yes, we can. Taehyung alpha growled in his head, but he didn't voice it. The last thing he wanted to do was make Jungkook feel like a kept pet, but judging by his body language, Jungkook didn't want to leave either.
