Jack's P.O.V

It was cold, raining, dark. I was in black skinny jeans, a white t-shirt, and high-top converse. I was just trying to stay warm out in the streets as it was only 5:30 am.

I was around shivering, running my hands up and down my arms because I had goosebumps covering them, when a car pulled up beside me, it was my brother. He had blue eyes, blonde hair, fair skin and was wearing light wash blue jeans and a black t-shirt, and vans, he was twenty years old. "Get in the car." He said flatly.

"I don't have time for this, but dad made me come find you." Now my dad was an interesting character in itself... brown hair green eyes and now at 45 years old. I just kept walking ignoring my brother, Xavier.

He just drove next to me at an extremely slow pace. "Dude get in the car, you're gonna get sick!" I still didn't listen. If he didn't care while I was there, why would he care now?" he sighed heavily, parking the car on the side of the road.

I just kept walking. As I passed the car I heard the door open, then close a few moments later. "Great" I thought "Just another person to beat on me, no need to be kind!" I thought bitterly.

My brother soon found his way into my line of vision, standing in front of me, waiting for me to turn around, I wasn't going to. I tried to side step him but his arm reached out to grab me. I booked it before he even got to touch me.

"Hey get back here!" Xavier yelled through the heavy rain and light rumble of thunder. "No! why would I listen to you? you don't care! Just go do what you wanna do!" I yelled over my shoulder, slowing down hearing that he wasn't chasing me. "Just leave me alone its not like you want me back." I said before turning down the next street, but before I turned, I got a good look at his face.

He looked shocked, taken aback by my words. I heard fast, quick footsteps approaching behind me, when suddenly I felt myself being lifted and thrown over someones shoulder. "I told you to get in the car, you didn't. We do care about you, and now you might get sick because of you're stupidity!" "Fat bloody chance you do!" I yelled only to be tossed in the back of the car moments later.

He locked to door so couldn't get out, and proceeded to get in the drivers side of the vehicle. He drove us home, which I was surprised to find it a 35 minute drive, how had I gotten that far on foot, however it all went to waste. When we got home my brother opened my door and tossed me back over his shoulder.

The rain harshly pelting against us, the wind had now picked up as well. When my brother walked in with me limp in his arms, my father yelled "you found him!" but then looked confused as to why I was soaking wet. "Why is he soaked?" he asked.

My brother responded with "He thought it would be a good idea to walk through the rain until it stopped or something, I don't know he's 16 not 5!" my "father" looked at me with a furious gaze as my brother set me down. "Do you know how much hospital bills cost? Do you? Get upstairs, I don't wanna see you for the rest of the night!" my "father" yelled at me "I don't wanna be here! why do you think I was walking in the rain?" My brothers face drained of its color as I said that, it was almost like watching a cartoon characters face whiten like a sheet of paper.

My father lost it, before I knew it my head had whipped to the side, my cheek stinging. I looked back at him only to be punched in the gut. "Get up to your room before I beat you senseless" my "father" yelled at me before punching me one last time, probably giving me a black eye to wake up to in the morning.

I walked up the stairs and headed to the bathroom before leaning over the toilet and dry heaving for two minutes before changing into dry clothes and drifting off to sleep in my bed room. I woke up the next morning with a pounding headache, cough, and slight-fever being accompanied with nausea.

I laid back in my bed only for Xavier to come through the door moments later. "Hey, how are you holding up?" he asked, I deadpanned at him and rolled over trying to go back to sleep in hopes that I could just sleep off the bug I had.

He sighed and walked over to the side of my bed, sitting on it and putting his hand on my forehead. he clicked his tongue and said "You, little brother, are sick." He got up only to come back with a thermometer water, ice , and medicine.

"Hey I need you to sit up, I gotta see how sick you are." "M-not sick I mumbled into the pillow my face was buried in. I groaned a little at how my older brother only now cares.
