you strolled along the faded pavement, a hand intertwined with another. the other hand belonged to man wearing a small black beanie, one that folded his pointy ears over and pushed them down onto his shiny silver frames. his body was engulfed by a way too big brown coat and half his face was covered by a chunky black scarf that you had gifted him for his birthday just today.
he looked so cosy, making you feel the same just by looking at him.he swung your hand back and forth as you two wandered through the serene streets. the sun was just setting and the purple clouds layered on the orange clouds that layered on the muted yellow colour, fading into a blue wash, as the golden sun poked in and out of the high rise buildings.
you looked over at hoseok. the sun cast its rays onto his tanned skin, making him radiate even more joy than he did already.
he soon pulled down his scarf so expose his nose and mouth, taking a deep breath in and exhaling loudly, a cloud of fog also exiting his pouted lips."isn't it pretty?" the words left his mouth with a wide heart smile, directed right at you. the smile tugged his eyes up into little crescent moons, you still could see stars sparkle in them. there was a bounce to his voice that was always there. it made you feel loved, it made you feel as though he was always happy when he was with you.
"it really is. thank you for taking me here, lovely" you replied, sending a bright smile back at him.
he didn't want to do anything big for his birthday. his wish to you was for him to take round his favourite places in the city. it was super calm, hardly anyone else roaming the streets. the only noises were passing cars and the shuffling of your feet. that was until hoseok started making a fuss.
"babe!! stop!!" he stopped dead in his tracks
a pang of panic struck your heart, your mind raced with fearful thoughts until he started speaking again.
"you look so pretty!! wait, let me take a photo!!" hurriedly pulling his phone out of his pocket with one hand, he never let go of yours with the other.you were relived and let out a chuckle, but that soon morphed into hesitation, you weren't the biggest fan of photos. you stood there for a while but soon gave in otherwise he would get upset and you didn't want to upset the boy on his birthday.
he directed and shuffled into the perfect position as if he was a professional photographer and you were his model. he positioned you facing the golden rays as the sun would 'light up your beautiful features' in hoseoks words. you scoffed in response.
"1,2,3 smile!!" you flashed the camera a cheesy grin, due to the man behind the camera having the most contagious smile on planet earth.you soon saw him set the photo as his lock screen moments later, though his home screen was still taken by his dog, mickey. no one could replace mickey. you smiled at the action and interlaced hands once again, as if it was just a natural reaction, like two magnets being pulled towards together.
to your surprise, he swiftly pulled you in for a tight hug. he started to waddle from side to side with you close to him body, something he did when he was too happy for words.
"thank you. i'm truly the happiest i've been in my life right now, and it's all thanks to your presence, you're my light!"
he pulled away so he could see your face and grinned as wide as humanly possible. a tear rolled down you cheek. as cheesy as they were, these words meant the world to you, and so did he. he did the same for you too. he was also your light, the light that continued to guide you through your worse moments."no! why are you crying! did i do something! i didn't mean to make you cry! you were supposed to smile!"
he pulled you for another tight hug and a second round on waddling around.
"thank you hoseok, your my light too"you then heard a small sniffle.
