Jessica'S POV
I was getting ready for bed when I heard this strange shuffling sound. I went to the hallway and knocked on Scott's door. He opened it and put his finger to his lip telling me to be quiet. He went walking down the hallway with me following behind. He picked up a baseball bat which made me roll my eyes at him, and we made it downstairs and outside. We looked left and right, while Scott was holding the bat in his hands ready to swing. I saw this dark figure and I froze in my spot. All of a sudden this figure started to hang down. Scott and I both screamed until we realized it was our best friend Stiles. " Stiles, what the hell are you doing?!" Asked Scott. " You weren't answering your phone. Why do you have a bat?" Asked Stiles as he was still hanging in front of us as if it were something normal. " I thought you were a predator" said Scott. "A pre-I-wha-look, I know it's late, but you gotta hear this. I saw my dad leave 20 minutes ago. Dispatch called. They're bringing an every officer from the Beacon Department and even State Police." Said Stiles. "For what?" I asked."Two joggers found a body in the woods." He answered. "A dead body?" Asked Scott. "No, a body of water. Yes, dumbass a dead body." Said Stiles sarcastically as he was finally on his own two feet. "You mean like murdered?" I asked.
" Nobody knows yet. Just that it was a girl, probably in her 20s." Replied Stiles. " Hold on, if they found the body, then what are they looking for?" Asked Scott. “That’s the best part. They only found half. We’re going.” said Stiles. “Listen as much as this is exciting, I’m tired and I want to go to sleep, so goodbye.” I said as I tried to go back inside. “Oh, no. If I’m going, you’re going too.” said Scott as he dragged me to Stiles’ Jeep. After like 20 minutes we arrived at the wooded entrance of the Beacon Hills Preserve. Stiles gets out with a flashlight in hand and Scott and I follow trying to keep up with him. “We’re seriously doing this?” asked Scott. “You’re the one always bitching that nothing ever happens in this town.” said Stiles. I nodded my head agreeing with him. “I was trying to get a good night’s sleep before practice tomorrow.” said Scott. “Right. ‘Cause sitting on the bench is such a grueling effort.” said Stiles. “No, because I’m playing this year. In fact, I’m making first line.” said Scott. “Hey, that’s the spirit. Everyone should have a dream, even a pathetically unrealistic one.” said Stiles. I glared at him and hit the back of his head with my hand. Before Stiles could say something about me hitting him Scott said “Just out of curiosity, which half of the body are we looking for?” “Huh! I didn’t even think of that.” said Stiles. “And, uh, what if whoever killed the body is still out here?” I asked. “Also something I didn’t think about.” He said. “It’s comforting to know you’ve planned this out with your usual attention to detail.” I said. We continued walking up the paths when I noticed Scott’s breath begin to shorten. “Maybe the severe asthmatic should be the one holding the flashlight, huh?” questioned Scott. “Are you okay?” I asked Scott. “Yeah, for now.” he replied. Stiles started to slow down and we were able to catch up to him. We see the zipper being pulled up from a body bag, but before it was zipped I saw a pair of feet. “Is that the second half of the body?” asked Scott. “No, they would have called off the search. Come on.” said Stiles. We ended up like on this hill and out of nowhere Stiles started to race forward. “Stiles, wait up!” called Scott as he pulled out his inhaler. “Are you okay?” I asked him. “I’m fine go after Stiles. Make sure he doesn’t get into trouble.” said Scott. I nodded at him and ran after Stiles. I was able to caught up to Stiles and we both looked around to see if Scott was near us. We turned around and all I saw was fanged teeth snapping ferociously at me. “Hold it right there!” said a State Trooper. “Hang on, hang on. This little delinquent belongs to me and Jessica what are you doing here?” asked Sheriff Stilinski. “Hey. Sheriff, how are you doing?” I asked. “Stiles, so, do you, uh, listen in to all of my phone calls?” Sheriff Stilinski asked. “No, heh. Not the boring ones.” answered Stiles. “Now, where’s your guys’ usual partner in crime?” He asked. “Who, Scott? Sc-Scott’s home.” I answered. “He said he wanted to get a good night’s sleep for the first day back at school tomorrow. It’s just Jessica and I. In the woods. Alone.” answered Stiles awkwardly. I just looked at him and realized that sounded a little bit weird. “Scott, you out there?” shouted Sheriff Stilinski. “See he isn’t out there.” I said thanking God he didn’t walk out. “Well, young man, I’m gonna walk both of you back to Stiles’ car.” said Sheriff Stilinski. “And you and I are gonna have a conversation about something called Invasion of Privacy.” said Sheriff Stilinski as he dragged Stiles to his car. Stiles and his dad finished ‘talking’ like half an hour later. “Take her home.” Sheriff Stilinski told Stiles. “Yes sir” answered Stiles. When Sheriff Stilinski was out of hearing distance I asked Stiles “What about Scott?” “He’ll find his way home. I have to get you home.” answered Stiles. Stiles dropped me off and I went upstairs to my room. I dialled Scott’s phone but all I got was his voicemail. I couldn’t sleep. I shouldn’t have left Scott behind. At around one in the morning I heard shuffling in the hallway. I got up and walked outside of my room into the hallway. I saw Scott. I looked him up and down to see if he was hurt and I saw blood on his shirt. “What happened?” I asked him. “I was bit by something. I think it was a wolf.” he answered. “A wolf?” I questioned and he just nodded his head. “That’s not possible.” I said. He gave me this confused look. “There hasn’t been wolves in like 60 years.” I said. “Come on.” I said as I took him into his room. “Wait here, while I get the things I need to bandage you up. I got some gauze, cloth, hydrogen peroxide, and some medical tape. I cleaned up his wound with peroxide and then I covered it with gauze. “I’m done. I said. “Thank you.” he answered. “Get some sleep. You have lacrosse practice tomorrow.” I said and he just nodded his head and laid down. I turned off the lights and walked out of the room and went to my room. I laid down and instantly fell asleep.
