The small town of Aura Falls is home to two kinds of freaks: the kind that sprout fish tails every time they enter the water, and the kind that waste their lives away trying to catch that first kind. In a town where everyone knows everyone, you'd think that everyone would know that Aura Falls houses a pod of mers, but the mermaids and mermen that live there go to great lengths to keep their existance a secret for one sole reason: to keep from being captured by the crazed, ever persistant group of scientists and hunters who have set up outposts there. 

For many years the mers have lived quietly, refraining from sinking any ships or luring any men to their deaths. But ever since the appearance of scientists and hunters, they've had to go back to their old ways. 

Keeping their existance a secret from the world is their number one priority, but with prying eyes all around them, how will they be able to do it?
