You reapplied your lipstick in the shade 'Red never looked so good' which coincidentally matched the red petite velvet party dress you had on. You stepped out of the car, turning around to the approaching sound of heels coming towards you.
"Y/n!" Your friend said, taking you into a big hug before pushing you away, hands on your shoulder as she/he looked at what you were wearing.
"y/f/n!" You exclaimed, excited to see them. You had both been waiting to see each other but you had both been held up with work.
"Come on inside. There's a cute ass boy here." She/he said, grabbing your hand and pulling you into the direction of their house. 90s music blaring from the surround system that was inside the laser-lit house, music in every room of the house. She/he directed you over to the drink station, close to where the boy was.
They poured you a drink and handed it to you. You took it.
"So, where's this cute boy you're desperate for me to meet?" You mumbled, just loud enough for them to hear. They bobbed their head in the man's direction, he turned around and saw your friend.
"Heya!" He said, waving as you and your friend both turned around. He walked up to your friend first.
"Awesome party, y/f/n." He exclaimed, as he looked over at you. He held a hand out. "I'm Cody, you?"
"y/n." You mumbled, shyly. Your friend nudged as if to say don't be shy. You gained some courage and shook Cody's hand.
He refilled his cup and melted back into the crowd of dancing people.
"Hubba Hubba." Your friend said, wafting a hand in front of their face.
"You're telling me." You exclaimed. You took a sip from your cocktail of mixed alcohol. You placed the red plastic cup on the drinks table and lingered into the crowd of sweaty, dancing people. You swayed your head and body to the beat of the 90s music that played. Your friend followed you into the crowd and began dancing with you, singing too.
You turned your head a couple of times in Cody's direction, your eyes connecting for a couple of seconds before looking away in excitement and perhaps embarrassment.
"Go talk to him!" She/he shouted over the loud music.
"Ya think?" You shouted back. They nodded, they grabbed your shoulders and turned you around before pushing you into the direction of Cody. You stumbled in front of Cody, he grabbed your upper arms, just stopping you from following face-first on the floor.
"T-Thanks." You said, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear as you stood up properly.
"Ey, no problem." He said, holding the same red plastic cup as the other people in the party. "How long have you known y/f/n?" He asked.
"Oh, since we were in diapers probably. Our mothers knew each other." You exclaimed, still shouting over the blaring music unaware that the music wasn't as loud since you were in a corner of the room. "You?" You asked.
"A couple of years. She was my makeup artist for a movie project I was doing a while back." Cody said,
"Cool." You said. "I'm gonna go get a drink, wanna carry this conversation on there?" You asked, gesturing towards the drinks table.
"Of course." You both walked past the wave of sweaty, singing, dancing bodies swaying in time to the music. You finally made your way over there. You grabbed a fresh cup and poured a drink. You took a sip of it.
"Whoa, strong." Your eyes widened as you swallowed down the intoxicating mix of alcohol in a gulp. You chuckled, Cody laughing with you.
"Weren't you the guy off American Horror Story?" You exclaimed, slurring slightly as you took yet another sip of the drink.
"Mhm, that's me." Cody exclaimed, "In the flesh." He said, laughing.
"Oh my god! No way!" You exclaimed. "Well, It's a pleasure to meet ya. I feel so dumb for not noticing sooner." You said, placing a hand on your forehead.
"Ey, it's fine. It's nicer to not be noticed for once." Cody said, reassuring you.
"I bet." You said, chuckling. You two had been talking for a good 30-40 minutes, You looked at the clock before your eyes met your passed out friend on the couch.
Cody saw. "Are they alright?"
"Yeah, yeah. Just can't handle their drink." "Mind helping me put her to bed?" You said.
"Sure." You both walked over to her.
"Y/N?" You clicked her fingers as she looked up at you.
"Huh?" She mumbled. You grabbed one of her arms and placed it around your shoulders, Cody doing the same. You both helped her upstairs.
"I think that room there is hers." You said, nodding towards it. You made your way and opened the door. You helped her over to the bed. You placed her down, you took her heels off and placed them beside her and grabbed the covers, encasing her in it.
"Mind grabbing me a bin and some water?" You asked, turning your head to face Cody. Cody eye's looking up from your ass to your face.
"Oh, sure!" He walked out to the bathroom and grabbed the small bin from there before making his way downstairs to grab a bottle of ice cold water from the fridge. He walked back upstairs and back to the room. He placed them beside the bed.
"Thank you." You said.
"You sleeping here tonight?" Cody asked.
"Mhm, it'll be better anyway." You said, "Why don't you stay and I can drop you off at your house tomorrow morning?" You suggested.
"You're alright with that? Will she be alright with that?" He asked.
"I'm sure she will be." You added.
"Alright then. I'll stay here." You nodded. "Wanna start cleaning up?" Cody asked.
"Sure, let's get a head start." You said, smiling.
