Step Two: Be Attentive To What She Says

"What's taking him so long?" You turned your head to Taehyung, who was to your left. All of you agreed on going to the amusement park, which will be having its grand opening today. The plan was to get picked up in Jimin's van and getting there in time to get all the freebies given out during the opening. Being cheap, broke, and impatient college students, who would do anything for free stuff, you decided to meet up at the 24 hour McDonalds branch at the crack of dawn to be the first ones there and avoid having to wait in line. You all came at the designated time except for Jungkook who was late by 11 minutes.

"He just texted me that he woke up a few minutes ago," Taehyung said with a slightly annoyed tone. "Tell him to hurry up or we're leaving him behind," Yoongi snapped.

Suddenly, the doors flew open and revealed a panting and tired Jungkook holding two Starbucks drinks in each hand. You all eyed him as he walked to the table you were at.

"H-here," he handed you a drink and sat down. Your eyebrows furrowed as you wondered why he'd give buy you Starbucks when you haven't even talked to him since yesterday. "Jeon, what's this?" You asked, pointing to the drink in your hand. "It's nothing," he smiled.

"Let's go gays," Hoseok announced since all of you were here now. Grabbing Yoongi's hand, he dragged him and went off to the van parked outside while the rest of you followed.

"Jungkook, why didn't you get me anything?" Taehyung whined when all of you were seated in the van. "You don't even like coffee shut up," Jungkook said, as he stared at the sunrise through the window, completely ignoring the upset 23 year old to his right.

Jimin kept his eyes on the road, Joon was bopping to Tinashe in the passenger's seat, Jin was taking a nap with his RJ eyemask on, Hobi laid his head on Yoongi's shoulder while Yoongi laid his on Hobi's head, and Taehyung was now drinking Jungkook's drink which Jungkook had given up just so the other could be satisfied.

So these are your friends huh? You smiled at the thought as you took your first sip of the drink. Expecting a basic flavor such as an espresso or maybe just an americano, the taste of the iced caramel macchiato surprised you. Not only was it your go to drink, but it was what you were craving during the short period of time you had to wait for everyone to arrive this morning.

"Are you fucking kidding me right now," Yoongi exclaimed. All of you were standing at the gate of the amusement park with a sign hanging on it with bold words saying

"GRAND CLOSING 2019/02/18"

Eyes turning to Jimin who ran back to the van and locking all doors when he realized he had fucked up. A mob of six angry men stomped their way to the van and started swearing at poor Jimin who was scared for his life through the window.

"YOU DUMBASS YOU SAID IT WAS OPENING ON THE 18TH I WOKE UP AT 6AM FOR THIS SHIT," Jungkook yelled. They all ranted on how they had to wake up this early, or how they had to skip a study session for this, or maybe even how they had to hire someone to take care of their dog for the day. All in all, they were pissed because Jimin told them it was a grand opening, not a grand closing.

All was silent in the van as Jimin drove you guys to a Thai restaurant and he promised to treat all of you to make up for misinforming you guys.

"It's almost 7AM so it's probably opened up by the time we get there," Jimin said. "Maybe it's closing at 7AM who knows," Joon shot back. "Shut up," Jimin rolled his eyes.

Your eyes scanning the menu till a certain dish caught your eye. "I'll have a Pad Thai please," you. told the waiter who was taking down your orders.

"Cancel the Pad Thai," Jungkook commented, seated in front of you, keeping his eyes on the menu, and eyebrows slightly furrowed. "What the hell Jeon? Why?" You asked with an offended look on your face.

"Pad Thai has peanuts. You're allergic," he said. You turned to the waiter who nodded at Jungkook's statement. "How'd you know that?"

"You threatend to eat my ice cream one time so I got one with peanuts in it so you wouldn't dare cause you told me you had an allergy," he mentioned. "I'll have the papaya salad," he ordered before closing the menu and handing it back to the waiter who went to ask the others what they want.

You stared at him as he wore a blank expression while playing some battle game on his phone. "Jeon, how'd you know my Starbucks order?" you asked, recalling what happened earlier.

He shrugged and answered simply with an "I just do," before continuing his game. "When did I ever tell you?"

"I was running late for class and you told me to get you an iced caramel macchiato cause you get cranky in the morning when you don't get any caffeine in your system and you said, and I quote  'if you're late, why not go all the way and miss a class."

"That was like, last month though." Not sparing you a glance, he just hummed in response as he focused on his game.

Contrary to what you believed, you always thought that whenever you talked to him about anything at all, ranging from when you're hamster passed away when you were five to when you saw a pretty cloud that morning, you expected your words to go through one ear of his and out the other. But in reality, he paid close attention to what you were saying so whenever he has the chance, he can make you feel as if there's always someone you can talk to and will listen to you and in a nutshell, make you feel special.
