It felt like forever, but finally, I heard the familiar sound of footsteps and I heard someone's voice. Finally, it was time. I stood up from the bed and stood, eagerly awaiting my first assignment. When the door finally opened, I was met with one of the "SWAT" members standing outside the door. He explained to me that they had some work for me and told me to step out of my room and follow him. He also added that if I didn't obey orders, he had the authorization to kill me, so I quickly did as he asked. As I followed him down corridors, I found more "SWAT" members stationed practically everywhere. I tried not to look at them in case they were watching me behind their googles.

We finally stepped into an empty room where my new acquaintance, which I will call "Bob" from now on handed me a piece of paper containing information that would help me on my first assignment. I took the paper from him and took a moment to study the figure in the picture. At first glance, I wasn't really sure what I was looking at, since it was facing away from the camera.Reading the information provided at the bottom of the page, I found something I wasn't expecting. Apparently, the figure in the picture was SCP-173, AKA, "Billy" and it was basically some weird creation constructed of concrete and rebar, with some slight traces of Krylon brand spray paint. And it was reported to attack by either snapping the neck at the base of the skull, or by stangulation when not in a direct line of sight. So, from what I was gathering, I was expected to go into SCP-173's containment cell and stare at it while observations were being made. I  was hoping that I was going to get a really important job on my first day here, but nope! I just found out they hired me to stare at some weird statue thing while the actual "important" people made observations. Like, seriously, why can't these guys just observe it from outside the containment cell? Why do they need a team of like, three people to stare at it? Literally. The Worst. Job. Ever. But orders had to be followed, so putting the paper in my pocket, I continued on to SCP-173's containment cell where two other Class-D personnel were already stationed and waiting.

I took my place behind the two men and as the doors to the cell opened, I took a deep breath, and stepped inside. No sooner were all three of us inside, did the doors close. Great. Overhead, the loudspeaker crackled to life, and a voice was heard, ordering us to approach SCP-173. As the first man approached SCP-173, a rumbling sound was heard and I looked behind me to see the door now wide open. Strange. Over the loudspeaker, I heard someone say the door controls were malfunctioning. Maybe this was my chance to escape this embarrassing job and spare myself of humiliation. As I slowly began to back out of the cell, still keeping an eye on SCP-173, on the level above me, I heard one of the "SWAT" members ask me if I had really just left the containment cell. Yes. I did. Before I could make a smart remark that I would probably regret, there was a low rumbling sound, then the lights went out. Before I could process what was happening, the lights went out again, and when they came back on, I looked inside the containment cell and saw that the two men were lying on the floor. They were dead. And SCP-173 was gradually getting closer to me. I ran and hid behind a corner just as the lights went out again. When they came back on, I peeked around the corner and saw that SCP-173 was on the level above me, facing the "SWAT" member now firing at him. The volley of bullets did nothing to pacify it however, and when the lights went out for a final time, this time staying out, the man fell down and like the rest, was dead.
