Prologue


"Take her and run!" a woman who seemed to be 38 years old yelled at a man.

"No, MacKenzie! I can't! I can't leave you!" the man, seeming to be 39 or 40.

"Scott, please," cried MacKenzie, tears streaming from her soft chocolate brown eyes. "I can't have another death on my hands. Please, save the princess. Save my daughter."

Scott nodded, his gray eyes filling with understanding. "Shall I send Princess Jay to Earth?"

Makenzie sighed, putting her right hand on her three-month-old daughter's head. "I suppose. Will she still have her powers?"

"They will develop on Earth, but yes."

"Please Scott. You are my most trusted guard. Give her my necklace and diamond brooch. When she is old enough, she shall return one day to the kingdom."

Another rumble and the ground moved. Parts of the palace cellar collapsed. Scott nodded. "Of course Queen Makenzie. I shall stay close to her. Close to her. Not with her. She shall go to an orphanage. They will take care of her."

"I know you're here, MacKenzie. I will kill you and your daughter!" The ground shook.

"Pyro! Scott, run! I'll hold him off!"

Scott nodded and raced for the mirror. He lept in, and he began to teleport. He couldn't be harmed any more. He turned to see MacKenzie take out her gun. He gasped. If she shot it, it would kill everything and destroy the planet. He watched in horror as she pulled the trigger, as Pyro was destroyed for the final time, as MacKenzie looked at him and her daughter.

As the last words she spoke were, "I love you, Jay. Thank you."

Then the explosion. The last thing he remembered was screaming and the flash of being teleported. Then, there was black.
