What a magical night it was?! Barnaby and Y/N danced until the Celestial ball was over. They didn't see anyone else just two of them and thousands of stars all around them.

'Y/N, I don't think I've ever danced for this long' Barnaby smiled at Y/N sweetly.

'Y/N couldn't help but smile back. It was so much fun than she'd ever have thought so. All the Professors have now retired from the great hall. Even Hagrid seems to be slowing down and swaying across the great hall bidding good night to everyone.

'Y/N , Barnaby. This is one night to remember, in't it?' Hagrid grinned.

'Yeah, Hagrid! I don't think I have ever danced for this long. It's so amazing!' Y/N turned to look at Barnaby, only to see he was staring at her like he was dreaming. Hagrid seemed to notice this too. He raised eyebrows and twice and grinned at Y/N.

'Okay, you two, I'm off. You two have a good night, Y/N, Barnaby!' he nodded them full of glee.

'Good night, Hagrid!' Y/N waved.

'Good night!' waved Barnaby coming out his daze.

Y/N giggled as she resumed dancing.

'What? What is it?' Barnaby smiled almost confused and joining her again.

'Y/N loved it whenever he smiled or looked confused. He looked so innocent.

'Nothing' Y/N shook her head smiling.

'Come on tell me. You can't keep a secret from me' he teased.

'Oh, is that what you think?' Y/N giggled making Barnaby chuckle with her. His laugh made her blush and almost said 'I ....' But, the music slowed and came to a stopped. Barnaby and Y/N looked around. Even the last few students were leaving the great hall.

'Oh, it was wonderful, wasn't it?' Penny ran towards them and hugged Y/N.

'Awwwwwww....... Yes, it was! You did an amazing job, Penny' Y/N smiled when Penny let go of her.

'Oh, Thank you, Y/N! Hope you had fun too!' Penny gave her a cheeky grin.

'Yeah, it was amazing! Y/N replied.

'Awwwwwww..... You didn't get what I meant. I meant 'FuN!' not fun!' she couldn't help but grin ever so cheekily making Y/N confused. 'You are so sweet, Y/N! You look like Barnaby when he's confused' Penny teased.

'I look confused?' asked Barnaby confused.

'Oh, you two!' she smiled.

'Good night, Penny ' Y/N gave her another hug.

'Everyone knows you like him too' Penny whispered as she broke the hug. 'Good night, Y/N!' she sang.

'Everyone?' Y/N stared after her flabbergasted.

'Good night to you too, Barnaby!' she turned and smiled and nodded at Barnaby and giving you a wink.

'Good night, Penny' Barnaby nodded back, and Penny gracefully left the great hall.

'I don't even feel like leaving' Y/N sighed turning to Barnaby.

'Me neither' Barnaby replied. 'I guess we don't have a choice unless we want to get kicked out by Mr.Filch. We are the last two here' he said looking around.

'Oh,.... I didn't even notice that' said Y/N looking around sadly.

'Don't look like that, Y/N. You were perfect tonight like you always are' said Barnaby softly as he took your hand and. 'I'll walk you to your common room' he smiled at her as he led her out.

'Thank you, Barnaby' she smiled at him innocently tilting her head. 'I feel like the luckiest. You're the perfect date anyone could ever have; she said glancing at him. Barnaby turned as scarlet as Gryffindor quidditch robes at this. They walked hand in hand towards the Gryffindor tower when Y/N had an idea.

'Wanna go star gazing outside? It's a moonless night, so, they will be very bright' she asked.

'Okay,' Barnaby grinned.

Y/N felt her cheeks burn. They quickly sneaked out of the castle miraculously avoiding both Peeves and Mr.Filch. It was pitch black outside except for the starlight.

'Let's not wand light our wands. Someone might notice us' whispered Y/N.

'Why are we whispering?' Barnaby whispered back.

'Someone might hear us' Y/N replied

'Okay,' he whispered back. 'Wow! It looks like just like the Celestial ball decorations' Barnaby said awestruck at the stars.

'I love stars too. Sometimes I just watch them from my dormitory windows' Y/N said starring up at the heavens.

'I can't see stars from my dormitory, because you know ours is in the dungeons' He looked at her and turned his eyes towards the sky again. 'and I haven't sneaked out of castle like this'

Y/N glanced at him staring up at the stars with innocent awe.

'What's your favourite star? Mine is Sirius. It's the brightest' she said lost in her love for astronomy.

'I - - - I like the shapes they make when we trace them' he smiled.

'Awwww. . . ' she thought.

Which constellation is your favourite?' Y/N asked.

'That one!' he pointed at the sky.

'Oh!' Y/N almost cried, but she managed to lower her voice quickly and whispered 'It's Draco. It's the dragon. I love that one too! I'd die to meet an actual dragon'

'Draco, That's nice!' he smiled at her watching the stars. 'When I become a Magizoologist, you can come with me when I go dragon exploring'

'Really?! Oh, That would be brilliant! Thanks, Barnaby!' she grinned. 'You know the brightest star of Draco is called Eltanin. Isn't it cool?' Y/N asked him.

'You do really love stars, don't you? asked Barnaby smiling at her.

'Unbelievably' whispered Y/N. 'Let's find somewhere to sit'

'Be careful where you step, Y/N' said Barnaby taking her hand.

'He cares so much' she thought as he led her towards a bush carefully in the dark and sat. Out of nowhere, a cold breeze came and Y/N started to shiver. Barnaby glanced at her and immediately took off his buccaneer and put it on Y/N's shoulder and held her close. Both of them blushed furiously under the stars.

'Thank you, Barnaby' she managed to mumble.

'Well, I don't want the best date of the whole Celestial ball to shiver in cold' he said tilting head towards her. Y/N smiled shyly. 'You're are the best too'

As he leaned slowly on the bush behind them, thousands of fireflies rose up to the air in seconds and flew around them casting their luminous light like twinkling stars as Barnaby and Y/N watched them wonderstruck.

'This is like a dream, Barnaby. I actually dreamt this, only I was alone in it. I can't believe it! Am I dreaming again?' she turned to ask him and saw he was looking at her.

'You are not dreaming , Y/N. I'm here. This is real'

'I'm so glad you are here' she smiled sweetly.

'Me too. and, for asking you out for the ball, Y/N' whispered Barnaby.

'Oh, me too' said Y/N planting a kiss on his cheek (making him turn scarlet) and rested her head on his shoulder as he rested his head on hers'. Hagrid was right, it was a night to remember, indeed.
