"Sir. We're here not to fight. I fucking traveled from the enemy lines all the way back to Moscow wanted to know what the fuck happened. Not more fighting!" Alexander angrily snapped back at the General, he turns around. Approach him "You're a soldier. Your mission is to shoot and kills. Not to ask questions." He calmly replied "Listen here. Either I get my answers or I'm out of here! That's all."

"You wanted answers? Meet me at my office. The rest go prepare for the assault. We may not waste time, Alexander looks at me before following the General "Dima, I'm done of fighting. It's time you do my part." He place his hand on my shoulder

The soldiers there guided me through the armory. They introduced me into the new armory, it's look nothing like a modern armory... Something... More like a makeshift. Guns are rusty, damaged and might be unreliable. The armors that they have are reinforced with leather hides or plates. Some even have blood and scratches or even bullet holes on it

"You guys don't even clean your guns? This might be why you're losing Moscow to them." I know this, because back in the days. My gun jammed every damned time if I didn't clean if properly "What're you expecting eh? They're all over us. Even we have to scavenge their stuff to live. Hell. Winter War is better than this shit." A veteran angrily replied while preparing his gun

Few hours later

We're stealthily moving through the fog, into the American's territory. I'm surprise that the fog still last for a good portion of time, Alexander is coming with us after that talk with the General, I'm hoping he didn't put lies in his head. As we travels we saw a column of tanks moving "Hide. Now!" The squad leader whispered, we all took cover for the tanks to pass

"Move it. We need to get to the bomb before daylight." He moved out of the cover "What is he thinking about the bomb. We can take back Moscow without it. Just like Stalingrad." "Cut the gossip. A great sacrifice must be done for the USSR. If we can't win, we'll take them with us!" Then they start talking about Stalingrad. The American base is right ahead of us but with fences and barb wires as their fortification

"Hey how long you think we'll be here?" Surprisingly, it was German? "Until they all die. We have orders from them. The NATO shall be here any moment to sweep Moscow and any survivors. The mining for the rare resource will be st-" The soldier was cut off by a gunshot to the head. Alexander shot him "Alert! Alert! We hav-" he took the other one down "The fuck are you doing? Now they know our position!" The squad leader gritted through his teeth. The siren goes off and I can hear Germans shouting inside the base. "Come with me." Alexander dragged me out of the team, we run as far as we can out of our position

The darkness make it harder for us to see anything, I can still hear gunshots from afar. They expect this to be a suicide mission. How the hell are the Germans in Americans territory. There must be a mistake. Then the ground rumble violently "We're on a rail track! Dima get out of there!" He dragged me out, I look closely on my right and saw the lights getting closer. A train is still working in Moscow? As the train drives pass us. We went the opposite side where the train come from, my Geiger Counter went haywire. We both put on our gas masks to investigate. We came across a container that have the highest radiation count. I opened the doors... "Fuck! What the fuck!" I was shocked

Inside the container was General Reznov tied with the Nuclear bomb. He was dying from the radiations but he tried to say the last words "Run... *cough* It's armed... *cough* *cough* Don't trust..." He died before he can finish his words. I looked at Alexander but greeted by the gun barrel instead "I'm sorry Dima. But I'm not one of you. I'm a damn traitor! I'm the one helped started this war. Reznov... Is the one who started it... I remembered now, he armed the bomb two days ago right here. He's planning to take evidences down with him. I don't want to kill you... There's a bunker inside the Russian base. Go there, you'll be safe."

I'm even more in shock of what he said "Where are you going to go? There's no way you'll esca-" "Fifteen minutes. Run." He simply said before he walks outside of the container. I ran after him but he's gone. Outside the Germans are still fighting with our soldiers. With no way to save them so I ran as fast as I can inside our base. Running through corridors and running with time. Finally I approached the bunker hatch, the Russians are there also. I warned them about the bomb and take them down with me

BOOM

The bomb exploded, I can hear it inside the thick layer of concretes. Lights inside the bunker flickers, the bunker shakes violently. People were panic. Will we ever find peace? I've lost faith in trust after all I've been through. A dark future is waiting for us...

The end

The journey had come to an end. I hope you guys enjoy the final chapter as the story itself. If you guys want I could make a sequel. I've tried to make the last few chapters as dark and plot twisting as possible. Many questions are made but left unanswered or only have a bit of hints is intentional. Until then, To Moscow! had ended. Thank you to everyone that's reading it again
