Princess Kateryn drowsily opened her eyes and observed the fact that her surroundings had apparently changed themselves in the amount of time she had been asleep. She didn't possess such a strange ceiling ornament after all. Also, her room was not this color. The floor had changed as well. The room was the wrong size as well. Actually, everything was different. She couldn't find anything that even remotely resembled her royal bedroom. In conclusion, she had been kidnapped. Given that the sun was red, the sky was gold, and there was a distinct feeling of maliciousness, she was probably in the Demon Realm.

It seemed it had finally happened. For whatever reason, it had become a right of passage for Princesses to be kidnapped by demons and then rescued. Well, the rescue part was iffy. Sometimes the Princesses weren't rescued by their Prince, but that didn't happen often. Even then, it was possible to be rescued by some other person. Generally, the rescued Princess would then proceed to fall in love with their rescuer, and get married with the blessings of their parents, because if they were able to save the Princess when their Prince couldn't, they were obviously more suitable. Though if the marriage wasn't allowed, the pair would often run off together and go and have children, that inevitably ended up becoming an annoyance to the line of succession and as such a huge pain, what with sociopathic descendants with delusions of grandeur coming in and murdering the reigning King/Queen and taking over and all, so it was widely acknowledged it was better to agree to such pairings. Because of this, the Princesses that didn't get kidnapped generally didn't get married. It was truly a shame but was unfortunately how the world worked. It had become a right of passage as men to rescue their future bride as well from whatever sort of issue, and you couldn't get married without it. She honestly wasn't exactly sure where either tradition had originated, but it worked adequate enough. Sure it was absurd, but nobody was really complaining all that much.

She was brought back to reality out of her musings by a loud knock on the large black door that she had somehow overlooked while thinking.

"There are clothes hanging by the dresser. Please change into them and be ready to meet his majesty within 2 hours. Please cooperate. It would be a pity to damage his majesty's bride." Somehow, the voice that floated through the door sounded both threatening yet stressed. However, there were more important things to worry about.

'His majesty?' She wondered. 'Well, this just got about... uh... just a whole lot more complicated. In fact, I have no words to describe how incredibly complicated this just got.' Honestly, what was with her luck that she got kidnapped by demon royalty? Most just got kidnapped by normal demons. That's why they generally were able to be rescued.

Kateryn got up off the bed and began to poke around the room she was being held in. Walking over to the aforementioned clothes hanging by the dresser, she wondered if it could really be considered that. Sure it was better than what was shown in the archives of captured princesses, but it still showed way too much skin according to her sensibilities. Honestly though, had it covered up some more skin, she wouldn't have minded wearing it, it was actually quite pretty.

The outfit was made up of a pair of really loose pants, and an incredibly skimpy shirt that barely covered anything. Rather it only covered her breasts, so she wasn't too thrilled about it. There weren't even any sleeves! Okay no, there were sleeves, but they were really loose and didn't do anything for covering her arms as they were made of a semi-see-through material. She really liked the pants though, they were made up of a soft material, and there was some gorgeous golden embroidery on them to complement the accessories. She wondered who did the embroidery and if they were a demon how. She did admit she was quite prejudiced against the demons as a whole, but then again, what human wouldn't be?

Given that the voice had said two hours, she figured she had the time to look around her brand-new shiny prison before actually putting on the clothes. Walking away from the dresser, she realized what she had thought was just a window, actually contained a balcony. Were the demons so secure in their superiority? If she was the adventurous type, she would have been able to save herself. As it was, trying to escape would probably end up getting her killed, so she decided to file away the possible escape plan for when it actually became feasible.
