Esme POV:

I was awoken by the terrible noise of my alarm. My brother changed it to a train horn and I have no idea how to change it back. I switched off my alarm and threw my phone to the ground. I lazily got out of bed and did my morning stretch. "Esme breakfast is on the table!" I heard my mum shout. I have no idea how she does it every single morning. She gets up every morning around 5:30am and prepares breakfast for me and my brother. Where's my dad you may ask? Well, my mum told me that when I was 5 years old he walked out and never returned. Great dad right?

As I was walking down the stairs I overheard my mum and brother talking about some game my brother had later after school. "Morning guys." I said getting both of their attention. My mum smiled. "Finally awake I see." I rolled my eyes and sat at the table. We don't really have conversations whilst eating so its always awkward.

As I was about to leave to get ready for the day my mum stopped me in my tracks. "Oh I almost forgot, April called last night about some tickets she got for the both of you." I looked at her with a confused expression on my face. "What tickets?" My mum looked at me. "She didn't say. Go and give her a call."

I grabbed my phone off of the floor and dialed in April's number. It rang 4 times before her giddy voice could be heard at the other end. "Hi Esme!" I paused for a second. "Hey, so my mum said you called yesterday about some tickets?" as soon as I said that all I heard was a long scream. "OH MY GOD YES! I'm coming round right now." Before I had a chance to reply the line went dead. I shook my head smiling.

It wasn't long until I heard the doorbell ring. Damn she must be excited for something. I ran downstairs to open up the door. As soon as I unlocked the door in barged April. "Ok Esme, I know you don't really listen to bands but..." she paused smiling. "We are going to see Roadtrip!" I looked at her blankly. "Ok and when is this?" She jumped for joy whilst dragging me up the stairs. "In about 3 hours so we need to get you ready!" Is she crazy? I can't go tonight I have to study for my exam. "I'm sorry, I can't I have to study."

After what felt like an eternity of arguing. I finally agreed. And before I knew we were on our way down to London to see this band called Roadtrip.
