Minzy had always been different as long as she could remember. She grew up in Sydney, Australia, but had Korean parents. But whenever she traveled to Korea, she'd blurt out random English with her incredibly Aussie accent, and make everyone confused. In all, she looked, spoke, and acted differently than everyone else. But now, she had heard she was moving to Korea. She didn't want to part with her homeland, she held it close to her heart. But her mom and dad said she should see this as a chance to meet new people and try new things.
"Mooooommmmmm." Minzy groaned, slowly sliding down the staircase. "Do we have to go? I like it in Sydney!" Her mom just cut her eyes back at her daughter.
"We've gone over this Min, this is a new experience for you." Minzy just rolled her eyes and slid her purple bag into the uber waiting for them. Her dad had already been waiting for us in the car. Once Minzy got in and slid her headphones on, they were off.
Landing sucks. Seeing all the signs in Hangul made her head spin. She felt like she was about to faint until she noticed the burger place across the way. She ran over to her mom and tugged on her sweater.
"Mom, I'm hungry!" She complained, tugging harder.
"Well, that's good, since your dad and I made reservations at a fancy Korean restaurant." She raised an eyebrow at me, obviously having seen my longing look at American place. (Imma switch to first person here cause it's easier) I quickly stood up straight.
"Nevermind, I'm ok. I'm not that hungry anyway. Can we just go to where we're staying?" My mom sighed, defeated.
"We'll drop you off there. It's a shared house, so the people living there can help show you around." I beamed.
"Thank you, mom!" I hugged her tight and ran off to the car, my parents moving slowly behind me.

Once we got to the house, I was SHOCKED. It was beautiful! It almost seemed too nice to live in. Mom and dad walked me in and then basically ditched me.
"Wai-" But they were already out the door. I groaned slightly, too scared to do anything in case I mess it up. I stood there, fiddling with my fingers until a deep ass voice interrupted my daydreaming."Are you just gonna stand there or come sit down?" I quickly turned to him and bowed.
"Hello. And sorry." I said as quickly walked to take a seat across from him. This boy held out his hand and smirked.
"I'm Lee Felix. Nice to meet you." I took his hand and shook it, slightly bowing my head again. Felix laughed. Wow, his laugh was adorable. No Minzie! You can't be thinking like this, you JUST MET HIM! "You don't have to bow, it's ok." I stopped, completely flustered.
"I-I'm Hong Minzie. I just arrived here from Sydney." He shook my hand and flashed me a smile.
"Sydney? Sydney, Australia?" I nodded quickly. "Nice." I sat there for a few seconds in complete, awkward silence, until I decided to try and break the ice.
"Sorry, I'm not normally this nervous."
"Nah, it's all good. Here, I'll show you around." He offered his arm to me, and I took it without thinking. Once I realized what I did I started blushing like crazy. He showed me every room that we would be using, and it seemed to take forever. This place had IT'S OWN ELEVATOR AND MOVIE THEATER. You couldn't get crazier than this. I got excited when he showed me my room. Room=bed, bed=sleep. I flopped down on the bed and sighed.
"Oh my god, this is amazing!" Felix laughed and sat down next to me.
"I'm right next door if you need anything." I nodded and pulled the covers up over my cheeks to cover up my blushing. He ruffled my hair, then got up and left. I grabbed a pillow and screamed into it. Felix is SO CUTE. So many emotions were rushing through my body I didn't even know how to feel. I took out my phone and went on Instagram. I opened up the filters and took a quick selfie. I posted it to my story with the caption "Back." After I shut off my phone again, I realized how exhausted I was. I laid down and immediately passed out.
~
I woke up to someone shaking my shoulder roughly. I groaned.
"What is ittttt?" I mumbled.
"Minzie, you have to get up love. First day of school." My mom's voice rang around my ears. I sat up immediately.
"School?! What school? Mom we just got here!" Mom looked down.
"I know sweetie, but can you please just bear with me?" I sighed and nodded. She left the room while I changed and washed up. I wore a plain pink crop top with jean short shorts. I slipped a jacket on over my shirt so my mom wouldn't see. I hopped in the car, and my mom told me everything I needed to know about this new school.
We pulled up in the parking lot, and mom gave me a backpack filled with school supplies. I gave her a quick kiss and then she left. I was left staring at this huge, overwhelming building. I walked in with my head down, sliding off my jacket and placing it around my waist. I eyed the small slip my mom gave me with my schedule and where my locker was. I walked up to my locker and opened it, enjoying the newness of it. Just as I had finished putting my stuff away, I heard z familiar voice call,
"Ayyy Min! G'day mate!" I looked up to see none other than Felix running towards me.
"Felix?! You're-an Aussie???!" Felix smiled.
"Yup!" Everyone around us was staring, not understanding a word we were saying. I giggled a little bit seeing their shocked faces. Before I could think twice, I hugged him tight and said,
"Oh my god, I was so freaked out. I know nobody and I'm in a new continent and I had no idea what to do. Thank you so much." Felix laughed and hugged me back, placing his hands around my shoulders.
"Don't worry, we got you baby girl." The guy next to him, who kind of looked like a koala, said with a familiar Aussie accent. I pulled away from the hug and smiled at koala guy.
"Thank you so much."
"No problem. I'm Chris by the way. How do you know Lix here?" I shook his hand and responded,
"My name's Minzie, but my friend's call me Min. I moved in with Felix in a shared house yesterday." Chris smiled.
"Alright, lady, let's go introduce you to our mates." I nodded and followed behind him, finally excited to be here.
