"Why?" Cross asked.

"Why not?" Dracula answered. "It's not everyday someone enters here and doesn't die a tragic death. Well maybe I can't say tragic. At least they don't fall down ravines or something."

I heard the sound of hissing from Medusa. How many snakes did she have on her head? Enough for that sound to be loud that was for sure. The snakes didn't like Dracula for whatever reason.

"Medusa dear, your snakes are throwing a fit." Dracula purred. "Shouldn't you get them to relax?"

"What do you really want?" Medusa snapped.

"What?" He said, sounding too innocent. "What makes you think I want something ?"

"You always want something." Rhea muttered.

"And what makes you think you have it?" He continued. This sounded anything but innocent and happy like he did before.

They didn't respond to him. What was going on?

"You're from the main village right? What's your father's name?" Dracula said sounding like he didn't just sound like he wanted to comit murder.

"Yes.....My father's name is Ferrand. Chief Ferrand." I told him. It was a weird thing to ask but I answered anyway.

"What are your hobbies?" He asked.

"I like to hang out in my Mother's garden. Well more like hideout. I don't really have hobbies though..." I answered.

I wondered why he didn't react the way Medusa did. Wait where was Jora? Didn't she say Jora was with him? Where did she go? I didn't hear her walk in.

"Hmn hmm." Dracula said as if he was taking notes.

Then as if my thoughts brought her. I heard footsteps echo down the hall. They were lighter and more spaced out. She stopped at the doorway. Only Medusa and Dracula made a noise to say they noticed her presence.

"Darling, come over here and sit." Dracula said. He stood and pulled the chair out, the legs scrapping annoyingly against the floor.

"Medusa," Jora said. She walked over to Dracula, and from the screech of the chair, she sat.Surely he could have avoided the sound no?

"Out of the both of you, I would have rather you come alone Jora." Medusa greeted. Jora, and oddly enough, Dracula both giggled at the response. "Why have you joined us late?"

"The twins greeted us at our entrance." Dracula answered. "Jora was in the middle of tending to the plants there, which is why we decided to visit now, so she was a little behind Rhea and I."

Another hand took mine, but instead of just shaking it, they pressed a kiss onto the back of my hand. I approved. This was the way to greet a stranger in the ways of the tribe. Or ours anyway. Mom said she knew someone from a northern tribe who took her hand between their palms and bowed. It was weird Mom shrugged, that was why she remembered.

"It is nice to meet you...."She greeted, her words drifted off as she realized she didn't know my name. I giggled, not bothering to pull my hand from hers.

"My name is Tracy, and it's nice to meet you, Jora." I greeted her in turn. I could smell the faint smell of dirt and flowers. She smelled like she recently finished garden work.

She let go of my hands. So now I have felt some of their hands. Medusa's scales on her palms were smaller and smoother. Patra's scales were a little different, almost sharper. Dracula had rough callused hands, While Jora's hands were hard they were not rough.

Thus they stayed for a couple of hours. It kind of felt like Medusa was trying to interrogate Dracula, while he didn't seem to care. He had an answer for every single one of her weird questions that didn't make him seem any sort of guilty. Whatever she thought he was guilty of.

Jora was keen on catching up on Patra and Rhea. I learned they hadn't made their weird visits in about five months. It was weird for them, so thought those who lived here. I could tell by their voices even though they didn't say so.

Dracula seemed very nice. It didn't make much sense that Medusa didn't like him. Jora was the one to hurry the leave. She said she had business, and so did he. She made a fleeting mention of visiting again.

We had dinner a few hours after their leave. We kept chatting without them. Cross made soup, which was pretty good. It was a vegetable soup, with beef. After Cross went to the library to have some alone time. Rhea and Bellene also went off, said they wanted to chill.

Patra didn't even bother to come up with an excuse. Said she was going and went. That left Medusa and I alone in the dining room. I stood and stretched having sat about for most of the day.Medusa slid over to join me.

"How about I give you a tour?" Medusa asked. She was close enough that I could smell her. Which was kind of weird to think about. She gave off the scent of coconuts and strawberries. A snake nose bumped into my face.

I reached forward, not answering her question. I gave the little snake chin scratches. It's tounge flicked out against my cheek. It was adorable.

"Sure." I said happily. I reached to her head and slid my fingers through her snakes. I heard her squeak but she didn't bother to stop me. Then in a couple of seconds I was getting snake kisses on my face and hands.

"You are the only one to have ever bothered to give them such effections." She muttered to me.I couldn't help but notice the tone of her voice. She was slightly embarrassed. I lifted a large fat snake head and pressed a kiss. There were thirty of them and I wanted to give them all affection.

"Then I will continue to give them affection." I told her.Running my hands along them and scratching under their chins. Giving them little kisses utop their heads. "We can go on that tour though. I would like to know where I'm going, where's what and all if I'm to stay."
