Catherine's pov.

2 hours later, we arrived at our new home. "Here we are, our new home." dad said as if he were speaking to a huge group of people. "It feels like a prison." I mumbled. "Catherine." called dad. "Yeah." I said. "Go on get your out of the back of the truck, find a room to sleep in, and unpack your stuff." he said.  "Fine." I groaned.

-  at midnight

"Finally,  now I can go to bed." I said about to go to my room. "Hold on, little lady. You have to watch the dishes . said dad in a cow boyish voice. "You do the dishes,  I'm going to bed." I said. Before dad could answer, I was already upstairs and slammed the door.

"Thank goodness, I thought I would never get away from dad." I said. I laid on my bed starring at the ceiling which was crawling with cock roaches. "Why does this have to happen to me? Why couldn't this happen to a girl that wasn't me?" I thought. I then reached over to my lamp, turned it off, and went to sleep.

The next morning, I got up and ran down the stairs. Dad was at the table drinking coffee.  "Good morning. I am going to take you to school today." he said. "Why?" I asked while I was grabbing a box of Honey Nut Cherrios from the cabinet. "So, you can get settled in your first day of school." he said. "So, that doesn't mean you have to take me to school, today." I said. "Yes, it does. Now, hurry  up before you be late for school." "Fine." I said.

When we arrived at the school, the sign said Winston High School. "Here we are, you're new school." said dad. I wasn't listening. I was listening to music on my phone. "Nope. No phones on the first day of school." said dad. "Oh, come on, dad. What if  it's a emergency?" I said. "Yeah. What type of emergency?" asked dad. "What if we are going to the zoo, and the animals get out." I said. "What does that have to do with you?" asked dad. "Wait. I'm not done. What if a alagator comes and bites my leg off, then a tiger comes and bites my am off, and then the zookeepers have to call you so tthey check in my bookbag for my phone, but it is not in there. Then, it will be all your fault." I said really fast.  "Fine. You can have your phone back."said dad. "Yes!!!!" I yelled. "But, only for emergencies. Now, come on before you be late for school." said dad. It took me a few minutes to grab my bookbag, put my phone in my bookbag, swing my bookbag over my shoulder, and grab my lunchbox. As I entered the building with my dad, my mouth fell open.  "This look exactly like a hotel." I said.
