🧺🍓🕊 ∿ CHAPTER 52
━━━━━ • ━━━━━

A KNOCK COULD BE HEARD on the front door of eva's apartment. getting up from the living room couch, she walked over and opened the door to tate and gabbie.

eva stepped aside for the girls to come in, shutting the door behind them. the three girls headed into the living room and tate and gabbie sat on one couch while eva was seated in a chair.

"so, what's up?" eva asked the girls, unbeknownst of the reason why they were really here.

tate, as much as gabbie, did not want to tell their friend why they were there, but they knew they were going to have to. they wanted to give eva answers.

"jonah and i were talking," tate begin. eva's eyes instantly had lit up to the mention of her friend, "did he finally ask you out?"

tate met eyes with gabbie, and sighed before returning her gaze towards eva, "yes, but that's not why we were talking."

"oh, then what's going on?" she asked her friends. "look, we don't want to tell you, but we wouldn't have to if it hadn't happened," gabbie told her.

eva looked at the two girls, confused on what they were talking about. she soon realized that they were most likely talking about why corbyn had been ignoring her, why he hadn't been calling her everyday.

"jonah told me i shouldn't tell anyone, but i told him that it would be better if you knew instead of being oblivious," tate said.

"gabbie, what is she talking about?" eva asked. "eva, corbyn's cheating on you," gabbie told her.

eva's heart sunk right then and there. she knew something was up, but she didn't think that it'd come to be something like this.

after all that had happened before they 'formally' met, she went with her gut to put her trust into him. she wanted to be able to love somebody again, she wanted somebody to love her again.

it was too much information for her to take in, she didn't want to believe it.

"h- he what?" she asked the girls. "i'm so sorry eva. again, we didn't want to tell you but we don't want you to date him and not know that he has been hooking up with some other girl," gabbie told her.

eva took a few deep breaths before speaking again.

"it's okay. it's not your fault," she said, wiping away a few tears that had appeared to fall down. "so what am i going to do now?"

"you are going to come with us and we are going to have a girls night," tate smiled.

eva let out a chuckle and thanked her new friends for being there for her.

although she played it off like she wasn't, she was absolutely heartbroken.
