When we were stupid

I can't form sentences anymore

Not since the night we met and you showed up at my door

Thinking straight stopped being an option

Just jumbled thoughts is all I'm left with

Through the years I've numbed to your being

Lost all hope of any mystery

These days are numbered, but I'm not counting

A mile up the road is what we call "our mountain"

To this day I know it will all be gone

No more long car rides

No more "I'm right you're wrongs"

At the end of our confusion

I don't care if we were stupid

At the end when our lives are due

I'll say

Being in love was better with you
