The parking lot was full of my colleagues' vehicles. Most of all, Mr employer's v8 was magnificently parked at the employer's space. 8:21! Shit,, I was 21 minutes late. I parked next to Mr employer, at the CEO's space and jumped out of the car.

The door's guard and I had become real friends of late. He waved a hand at me saying," Good morning sir." I found it rather funny to be called sir. It seemed to me like a high school thing. Or maybe I thought I never deserved the respect.

Knowing that side wasn't on my side, I  had no time for chats. I just waved at him and took the stairs entering the main hall three at a go.

There was barely anyone in the hall, which meant one thing. The meeting had already started.

I ran to the lift like a grade one kid, knowing that Mr Badu, the company owner, was quite offended. My heart beat like shit and I could actually feel it from my ears. The lift, to me, was moving at a tortoises' pace.

After what seemed like forever, the lift halted and the door opened. Taking a long breath, I resolved by my usual slogan; deal with it, and never lose.

Every one was present in the conference room except for one chair beside Mr employer; the CEO's seat.

I was met by a multiple eyes in the conference room. I wondered whether I had an extra nose germinated on me.

" Mr Jewel is this the time when you get to job?" Mr employer asked, with an intimidating smile. I actually expected such a crazy question from him.

"Am sorry sir, it's just a coincidence that  I have come late when we have a  meeting,, it never happens." I said politely, trying to sound inferior.

"The main similarity in men is that they always try to justify their acts. What is the reason you have come late, Mr CEO?"

This man was getting into my nerves. I felt like abusing him but his authority stood between us.

"I was held up in a huge road jam due to an accident at  Luther's roundabout." That was the only lie that my mind would formulate.

"Next time, use a helicopter in such a circumstance. I think I can pay you enough money, after all, I have the monies to waste on salaries for men like you."

This man had become too much. I had to do what I hated most. I had to unleash my monies.

"Do you think you are rich Mr Badu? Is it because of this cheap company of yours?"

Every eye in the hall was looking at me. Pin drop silence had been observed like in those high school career talks.

Rising from his chair, Mr employer scratched his bald and proceeded, "you think you can afford even an office chair, Mr Jewel?"

" Is that what you think of other people, just because they don't brag like you? I just wanna show you that you know not. How much is this company. .... Profit included too." I said the last part smiling as it was some kind of a joke intended to annoy Mr Badu.

"Oh please, boy, do you think you can afford what I can? Anyway, dreams are all valid too." How could this man be such underrating!

"What if I buy the company,, what is in store for me?" Confidence could perfectly be smelt in me. My handsome face was exaggerated by a beautiful smile magnificently curved on my lips.

"Considering that the company goes at sixty million dollars, then, you afford, you earn twenty million dollars, from my fat pocket." This man was a real ass. His peacock behaviour was now at my throught.

Unleashing my credit card from my wallet, I turned to my colleagues my-servants-to-be saying " Today am going to change the leadership of this company, for the good of us all, and the company itself. Hope your ego ends here, Mr Badu."

But everyone looked at me with unconfident eyes. Those who weren't in doubt then, were amazed.

From the background, classic music could be heard. I walked matestically to the company's ATM machine, as eagerness raced through my veins.

The room was as silent as a vacuum,, except for the chuckling of the machine. Pressing the transfer button, it brought me the procedure , which I followed to the latter, and in a shorter than a moment, the transfer began counting, in percentage.

What if the money is less than the required amount? I found myself asking my inner instincts.

The transaction went faster than I had expected. With his mouth agape, Mr former-employer looked at me suprised. The atmosphere of the room was even,, suprise.

It took Mr Badu around five minutes to recover. In fact, he was the second person to recover from the suprise, after my secretary, Thalia.

"Men keep their word, Mr Jewel." He said handing me a cheque." Here is the promise." I knew the price of the company had been exaggerated and that was the reason why the gift was so high. Accepting it, I took the cheque and pushed it to Thalia.

The room was confused,, no one knew what would be next, leave alone the new Mr employer, Mr me. I stared at my colleagues - my employees waiting to see their reaction. Some were still confused while I could read happiness from some others.

Straightening his coat,  Mr Badu decided to end the silence. " Congrats Mr Jewel, I hope we shall have a handover ceremony tomorrow at the Natco hotel." Wait, I didn't expect that.   "You can invite friends and family for there will be a big feast, courtesy of me." He said stressing the letter "f" in the sentence.

Definately, it was my turn to speak. But my mouth was cobwebbed. My mind had gone blank since I was not used to such fast happenings.

"Thankyou sir, I would like to express my pleasure to have been working with you. I also hope that the company will work the same or me or even better. We all look upon tomorrow as the best day in our job diaries. Thank you. You are dismissed."  I was glad that I was in charge.

I was astonished that I had not left the room. It was a leaders' thing. Mr Badu was still in the hall with me, walking about.

"Am sorry, Mr Jewel, I didn't mean to underrate or embarrass you infront of your colleagues. It's just......."

" Don't worry Mr Badu, I should be the one apologising. Probably, I overreacted. You know, you are......."

"That is unnecessary Jewel. Let me just tell you that you are the most trustworthy patner I ever worked with.  You run the company in the same heart and spirit and you will win."

After a thirty minutes conversation, I escorted Mr Badu to the parking lot and only left when his vehicle went past the gate.

Mr new employer had to get in his office and reflect on the happenings of the day. My mind already felt very tired. I walked up the stairs and lift to my office, where I hoped I would get alittle peace and privacy, to be alone.
