Scene-1

************KATNISS' POV**********

Smiles all round, as everyone joins round the Christmas table. We have the whole family round, Lillia, Jay and Aster are all sat together at one corner, Me at Peeta are sat opposite, I was sat by Jay and and Peeta was sat by Aster.

Haymitch and Effie were sat together, Johanna and Gale were sat opposite with Tristan next to Johanna, Annie and rueben with Finley and Oakley, and lastly my mother sat opposite Lillia.

It was the first meal that had all of us together, so me and Peeta wanted to make it special, it was like a recognition of what we have all been through and what we have all fought for to be here today, we have lost a few along the way, Prim, Finnick, my father, Peetas family. But we don't dwell on the past we focus on the future. I see everyone breathe a sigh of relief when I bring out the turkey, last year when me, Peeta, Jay, Aster and Lillia had Christmas dinner just us five, I burnt the turkey. But this year I was determined not to. I bring out the various selections of vegetables and everyone just helps themselves,

"I'm just going to get a drink from the kitchen" it was Finley

"I'll help" that was Aster

"Aster, I'm sure Finley can get himself a drink" I chuckle

"Well maybe I want to help him, is that a problem"

Aster was always good at making her point

I reply " All right, it just looks suspicious"

I see Peetas close as he clenches his fist,

"Everybody get out side, it's a flashback"

************PEETAS POV************

That line " it just looked suspicious"

Is running through my head, it is as if I am back at that interview with Caeser

I start to hit things and shout "SHE DIDNT KNOW CAESER, NEITHER OF US KNEW ANYTHING EXCEPT WE WERE TRYING TO KEEP EACH OTHER ALIVE"

I repeat that several times until my head clears and I am just sobbing my heart out I start to tell myself, why today, I've ruined everything

I keep crying until I can feel the presence of someone, it was Katniss

"It's okay Peeta, I'm here, President Snow is dead now, remember, everything's okay now"

This reassures me

"It's all my fault I ruined Christmas, the first time we were all together and I ruined it, I hate myself" I keep saying that to myself

Katniss holds me even tighter

"No don't blame yourself for his actions he did this to you, your not in the wrong"

Katniss signals for everyone to come in,

They approach with caution but with deep concern

"Would you like a big hug daddy" Lillia says cutely

"Yes please sweetie," I say

Lillia hugs me then people start to join,

Slowly then all at once..

This was our one big family, close knit and strangely likeable family, the mellarks, the odairs, the hawthornes, and the abarnathy, together as one
