Rise Of The Snakes

Long before time had a name, the first Spinjitzu Master created Ninjago using 5 elemental weapons. But when he passed, a dark presence sought out to collect them all: Lord Garmadon. So I, Sensei Wu, his brother, sought out to find 5 ninjas to collect them first.

It was like any other day after Garmadon escaped, I would be out front training while the others would be locked away playing some stupid video game. I'm freaking 12, I should be the one slacking! But, in fact, I'm the only one trying to reach my full potential!!!

As I was ranting to myself I didn't notice the door opening until Sensei's gentle voice spoke to me. "Aurora? Where are the others?" I groan and stomp away from the dummy I was sparring against. I take his hand lead him to the room that the guys were shouting from.

Pizza slices, pizza boxes, and their golden weapons were thrown about the room. Cole was standing while the rest were sitting. I watched as Sensei snuck behind them and pulled the plug to the tv making them all groan. "What happened?" Jay shouted. The rest joined in until it was a mix of voices.

I join Sensei's side as he began to talk, "Just because Lord Garmadon escaped through a vortex doesn't mean he won't return one day for the golden weapons of Spinjitzu." I nod in agreement. "But Sensei Wu, ever since he's been gone, Ninjago has had nothing but peace." Zane finished with a smile. Jay shook his head, "Yeah, peace is boring. There's no one to save. There's nothing to do." I glared at the back of his head for the way he was talking, all rude like. Cole laid back and I sat on his tummy. "We can train tomorrow." He laughs as he pushes me off him.

"Never put off until tomorrow what can be done today." Cole lifts up a piece of pizza and shows it to Sensei, "Well, I was gonna eat this pizza tomorrow, so if that's the case..." He trails off lowering the pizza to his mouth but I smack it out of his hand. "No pizza for you!" I glare at him as I get up and Sensei places his hand on my shoulder, "In order to reach your full potential, you must train." Kai scoffs, "Uh, remember when we did a little thing called the Tornado of Creation? I thought that was pretty insane." Who are the adults here? A 12-year-old and an old man, or 4 grown men acting like toddlers?

Sensei's grip on my shoulder tightened as he gazed at the four dozing ninjas, "Oh. You 4 have merely scratched the surface to your full potential. There are still so many secrets you have yet to unlock. You haven't even begun to tap into what powers your golden weapons hold." I gazed down at my golden fans, the small intricate swirls, embedded in the gold that resemble the wind. "You wanna talk secret powers?" Cole sat up holding his scythe. "Check this out." Using the scythe, he picked up the plug and plugged it into the outlet.

"Don't worry, Aurora and master. We will be ready when Lord Garmadon returns." Zane was about to speak more but he was cut off as a panting Nya entered the room. "Guys, Lord Garmadon, he's returned!" I sprang to her side, just outside the doorway. "He was spotted approaching Jamanakai Village!" I ran out of the monastery, leaving behind the others who were stumbling around. I pulled up my mask as I neared my dragon, Clover. My mask was different than the others, actually, my entire outfit was different than the others. It was a long sleeve shirt with a long hole going from the shoulder to the elbow, baggy pants that can be pulled up to my nose and I can fold it down and put it back to double as a mask. It's really cool but different. As soon as I got on Clover, the others finally got there, Cole dropped his scythe when jumping to his dragon, Jay completely missed the saddle when he tried to jump, and they were a complete mess.

And one after the other we left the dragon stables going, Jay, me, Cole, Zane, then Kai. The wind felt amazing in my hair and ringing in my ears, I rubbed Clover's head as Kai began to speak, "You guys believe what sensei said about unlocking our full potential?" "He may be on to something. Since we got these golden weapons, it's not like we've ever had to use them. I wonder what they do." Jay chimed in. "I, for one, look forward to the future. If there is more for us to accomplish, let it be."
