My earliest memory is of a night  from when I was 3. My dad  had just gotten off his work and it was late about nine pm, at that time he was with a woman who looked like a sumo ,she always was mean to me and my sister, but never to her 14 biological children. It started when we wouldn't go to bed and we were talking to each other and dad came in and warned us that if we didn't get to bed he would punish us. I could tell that he was drunk and it made me scared...

We tried to go go to sleep, but we were to hyper and one of the sumo's daughter's made a joke and we all started laughing ,that's when my dad came in with several spices from the kitchen and started putting them on the floor. I asked what he was doing ,but he slapped me instead I started to cry and the older girls tried to comfort me, but he just yelled at us all and said we were going to go to hell. The oldest girl in the room shoved me and the others outside of the door and she told me to get the oldest,I think her name was something like Robin.. when I got to her room I could  barely speak so she gave me a glass of water and I told her what was happening she immediately called the police and  I went to tell the others ,but they had locked me and my sister outside with my drunk dad. It was about 2 in the morning when the police knocked on the door ,my dad was still a little drunk and he didn't open the door the first 2 times the police had knocked they were about to knock the door down when he finally opened it. I had hidden underneath a high chair when they came in.

The officer I remember was male and had a kind face and smile he asked me if I was ok so I said yes. Two officers took me and my sister to a McDonald's in town and got us happy meals. We drove for what seemed like forever. When we arrived at the Dhs we spent the night there. In the morning a woman took us to a man and a woman who said that they were going to take care of us for awhile. That's where my story starts.
