The Octonauts and the Overfishing Incident (complete)

Chapter Eight

"Well obviously we have to rescue the trapped fish," Dashi stated first. They were back in the Launch Bay at the Octopod.

Barnacles nodded. "Yes. Hawkeye said they weren't dead, just kept in the ship to keep them 'fresh'."

"But how do we get in there?" Tweak asked.

"There has to be a secret entrance somewhere. Other than that, we'll have to distract them while someone sneaks in to find the fish," Barnacles said. The Octonauts nodded.

"This will take everyone working together," he continued. The Captain brought up his plan outline on the screen, with a line of faces of all the Octonauts underneath a picture of the ship.

"Kwazii, you're good at the diversion techniques, aren't you?"

Kwazii grinned cheekily. "I can do distraction."

"Good." Barnacles moved Kwazii's face on the screen to the main deck of the ship. "So you'll distract them from one side of the ship. Peso, some of the fish may be injured. I want you to be part of the rescue team."

"Yes sir," agreed Peso. The Captain moved Pesos face to the lower area.

"Dashi, Shellington, you'll go with Peso. There may be a lot of fish trapped down there and we'll need numbers to get them out. Tweak, can you help Kwazii and I with distracting the crew?"

"Sure thing Captain," replied Tweak.

"We'll park the Octopod underneath the ship. When we get out with the fish, it'll be your job, Professor and Vegimals, to guide them in to the Launch Bay. You'll have to stay outside the Octopod, so watch out for nets or crewmembers."

"Of course Captain," replied Professor Inkling. Tunip conversed with the other Vegimals then turned to chatter at the Captain. Barnacles looked at Shellington for confirmation.

"Tunip says they'll do it."

"Good. Now Octonauts, let's do this!" Everyone cheered. Tweak was the first to move, beckoning Dashi to her. They went off up to HQ to move the Octopod. The Captain, Shellington, Peso and Kwazii all got air tanks and prepared to swim. When Tweak and Dashi came down again they were all ready to go.

"The Octopod is in position Cap," Tweak said.

"Okay. Now, we're all going out there now, Is everyone clear on what they have to do?"

No one seemed to have any questions, so the Captain led the way outside the Octopod, closing the Launch Bay door behind him. Inkling looked nervous as he held up a tentacle to signify he was ready and the Vegimals gathered around him. The rest of the Octonauts swam up to the large ship on the surface, leaving the Professor and the Vegimals behind next to the Octopod.
