"What about your mother, Yang?" Cinder's voice was cold. She seemed totally comfortable standing up on that stage, ready to lead an army to attack Beacon Academy and slowly trying to break me down.
"How do you know about that?" I ask my voice full of hatred. I glared at her. It was taking all of my self-control not to burn the place down, to beat her to a pulp, to wreak havoc all over their plans.
Sensing movement from beside me, I glanced over at Ruby who was shifting uncomfortably from one foot to the other. Blake and Weiss stood to either side of us, ready to launch into battle.
"Oh Yang," She chuckled, "I knew her!" I tensed, furrowing my brow, still glaring. "In fact," she paused, "I killed her." At that moment, I lost all my control. My hair burst in to flames, setting nearby crates of dust on fire and my vision tunneled. All I could see was red. Voices around me called out my name but I didn't hear them. All I could hear was Cinder's evil laughter ringing through the old warehouse.
I jumped up high, letting Ember Celica swallow my wrists as they expanded in to their full forms. I loaded them, mid-jump, and they clicked. I shot towards the ground, curling my hands in to fists not bothering to brace for impact. I saw blobs of color running away from their places. 2 white, 1 black and 2 red. One of those red's had to be Cinder.
I slammed my fists in to the ground, sending out a massive seismic wave. The cement around me was ripped off the Earth, crumbling in the air. The blobs were thrown from their paths of escape.
I lunged for a red blob near me, knowing it was Cinder.
"I will destroy you, Cinder." My voice wasn't mine. It belonged to a demon. A demon that I'd always known but never heard, a demon that’d spent so long searching, trying to discover only to find her expedition was pointless.
I threw the blob to the ground and threw wild punches as she thrashed and tried pushing me off of her, calling for help. Ember Celica firing as many bullets as she pleased, shells flying all around us. My hair flamed hotter, brighter and I could feel the heat scorching my back but not touching me. It fell in front of me, on to the blob and she screamed out in pain.
With one last blow to the stomach, I jumped away from her and landed somewhere in the middle of the chaos. I collapsed in to a heap of anger and tears, sobbing loudly in to my knees. Glancing up, I noticed that my tunnel vision was slowly clearing but had no effect on my eyesight. Smoke and haze swallowed the entire sight of wreckage I'd unfurled on the warehouse and its occupants. Fire blazed around and above, crackling loudly.
"Yang!" Someone called. I stared blankly, teary-eyed forward at nothing in particular. "Yang!" They called again. This time, they were closer, almost behind me. I felt hands shaking my shoulders. They said things but I had made no sense of the words. They were just noises exiting their mouth.
"Yang, its Ruby!" I jerked out of my daze, whipping my head around to see Blake, her eyes full of fright and sadness. I stood and she ran as I followed through the blackness of the smoke.
Blake stopped and I stepped around her, finding my little sister lying unconscious, or maybe dead, with her head in Weiss's lap. I felt tears form in my eyes instantly. I recognized the area, the scuffs on bits of rubble, the bullet shells surrounding the area. It wasn't Cinder I'd beaten...
It was my baby sister. It was Ruby. I'd torn my little sister to shreds.
Ruby's arms and legs were bruised and battered. She had burns all over her skin and her battle outfit was torn and scorched. Her hair was singed and her face had sunken in.
I felt my breath catch in my throat and my fists unclench. I shook my head slightly in disbelief. Blake rushed forward and felt her neck with two fingers.
