"Morgan!"

The barista yelling my name in the overly crowded coffee shop snapped me back to reality. I quickly made my way to the counter to retrieve my coffee, throwing her a smile before exiting the establishment. It was 7 am, but we were in the middle of Manhattan. It was busy—far busier than it had ever been in Houston. I was still getting the hang of things—let alone getting used to the city that never slept. Which was 100% true, by the way. New York never slept. Ever.

I was quickly sucked into the sea of bodies making their way down the sidewalk as I began on my way to West Industries.  I had only been employed at the multi million dollar corporation for two weeks, but in those two weeks I had learned a lot.  I'd managed to befriend the receptionist and often got free doughnuts or bagels as a result.  She knew my name, and I no longer got off on the wrong floor anymore.  The girl who trained me, Elizabeth, didn't have to come running every time I ran into an issue anymore either.

My heels clicking against the marble floor was the only sound in the lobby as I made my way to the elevator.  I pressed the button for the 12th floor and stared at my reflection as the metal doors began to close.

"Hold the door!"

I quickly stopped the elevator doors from opening, taken aback a bit by the tall, dark, and handsome man who joined me in the small space.  His smell was intoxicating.  He was dressed in all black and I had to briefly close my eyes to keep from staring at such an amazing specimen of a man.  He gave me a smile, showing off perfectly straight, white teeth that made me a bit jealous.

"Mornin'," he spoke.
"Good morning," I replied.

Mr. Handsome looked at me a second longer before pulling his iPhone from his pants pocket and becoming consumed with it.  When the elevator made it's stop on the 12th floor, we both stepped off.  I went to the left, and he started off to the right.  I couldn't contain myself—I just had to take one last look at him.  To my surprise, Mr. Handsome had stopped—watching me as well.  I couldn't contain the smile that played upon my lips if I tried.

"I'm Andre," he spoke. "What's your name, beautiful?"
"Morgan."  I paused.  "It's nice to meet you, Andre."
"Likewise."

I then turned on my heels and made my way to the IT wing, absolutely smitten.

"I hate to not let you sit down, but I need you to go reset the password in office 1221."
"Good morning to you too, Elizabeth," I joked before finishing off my coffee.  "I'll go straight down there.  You doing okay today?"
"Just peachy," Elizabeth spoke, sighing afterward.

I grabbed my lanyard of keys from my desk drawer and clipped it to my waistband, checking the time on my phone. Excluding my first day, Elizabeth always seemed to be in a mood.  She not only managed IT operations, but she was also involved in PR for the company.  You could take one look at her and see how stressed she as, but she never opened her mouth to lighten her load so I didn't necessarily feel sorry for her.  I just did my job.
