They slid down onto their knees and shot the enemy before you, swiftly turning around to take your hand right after to pick you up from the ground.
"This way," they nearly whispered through the gunshots.
You listened and followed, blood dripping from your shoulder. They had shot you.
"Dammit," you muttered. If only I wasn't so stupid.
You had decided to jump headfirst into the gunfight ahead of you without Bloodhound, the one teammate you had left.
They jumped in front of a large boulder shrouded in bulky shrubbery. They groaned when he did, letting you know they was injured.
You got out a syringe as you ducked behind the large rock.
"I'm so sorry," you cried. Tears started to form, though you tried your best to try and not show your sign of weakness.
You jabbed the medical supplies into their wrist. They did not react, but they sat up against the rock wall.
"You even told me who was there," you shook your head, knowing fully well that you should've listened to the tracker.
"It's fine," they spoke underneath their mask. "You're learning."
They were right. This was only your third time playing in the Apex games. Bloodhound had been in the games for a total of eleven.
You had always admired the technological tracker, and you never thought you'd ever be teamed up with someone such as them.
Bloodhound turned their head to look at you. Their hand silently moved themselves toward yours, grasping them tightly. "We got this."
You nodded uncontrollably, gunshots roaring loudly from behind the rock.
You noticed the blood stained arm of theirs and ripped at the fabric, freeing the skin which had been trapped in darkness for the entire game. You applied pressure with the cloth, most likely causing pain to the hunter, though they didn't express it at all.
In a quite motion, Bloodhound grabbed his knife and threw it so it barely missed the hair upon your scalp.
You hear a muffled cry and turn your head around to see a dead enemy on the floor.
"Thanks," you tried to smile.
"No problem," they replied. You could hear the smile back.
You could also feel their eyes on you, even though you couldn't see them behind the pair of goggles.
"Tell ya what," you said with a lump in your throat, "What if after this we go to a steakhouse."
They cocked their head, seemingly interested in the offer. Bloodhound stood up, brushing off the dirt on their pants. You stood up with them.
"I'd say I'm very fond of that idea," they said, picking up their gun so it pointed toward the air. "Now let's head out, I sense an enemy around the corner."
And destroy some bastards, you thought, a grin painted upon your face. "Hell yeah!"
