April 12th 2010 my life had changed dramatically 🤧 coming home from school walking in my hood (parkway) I seen a lot of my hood brothers crying why were they crying idk but I just kept listening to my music and walking enjoying my walk like I always do. Than I stopped in front of my sister keke house she was crying but I still didn't know why so I just went home. Went home laid down and trying to figure out why everybody was crying still had no clue at all. Than boom here comes a call from a hood brother mike with him asking "sis is shaheem dead?" Didn't know if it was a joke or not so told him no and hung up. Got a call again with him saying sis shaheem is dead. I instantly dropped everything and started crying, every shortly after that got a picture send to me saying R.I.P shaheem 🤧 my eyes couldn't believe what I just seen so I ran to show my mom. Her dropping everything she was doing and crying and trying to figure out how and why ? We instantly got in the car and went to shaheem best friend house russel where his grandma was outside cutting grass. My mom asking ma'am do you know where my son at ? Why is they saying he died? As the grandma turned around and looked at us her head dropped and tears fell. She than looked at us saying he died 11am this morning. Rushing home to tell my dad what was going on. As we began to panic I started to realize that's why everybody was crying but why no one ever told us 🤔 why did we have to wait till 8pm at night ? Detectives coming to our house telling us my big brother was gone was devastating for us. All I can think about is how and why? What actually happened 😫. Than me returning to school the next day getting bullied crying my life away because not only am I getting picked on but I just lost a brother and nobody knew. My mom started shifting away from us like she done forgot she had other kids. At this point I knew I had to step up and mature and be a mother to my siblings 😪 but I was only 13 going on 14 I didn't know what to do but I tried my best and made it that me and my siblings made it to school every morning, ate every night and still stayed on top of our grades.........
