FIRST DAY
It's nothing out of the ordinary that every typical teen hates school.
7:00
"Levantate, amor," My mother said as she opened the door to my bedroom door. I pulled the sheets over my head as she opened the curtains, letting in the sun.
It wasn't difficult for mom to wake me up in the morning but today is different. Today is the first day of school -- a new school, might I add. I don't like the idea of having to make new friends, meet new people or for a better explanation, I hate humans and unknown places.
"Five more minutes." I curled up in my blanket, getting ready to fall back asleep.
"Five turns to ten, ten turns to fifteen, fifteen turns to twenty. So no, amor. Let's go, I can't be late"
Mom got a new job, that's why we moved all the way to LA. I don't remember much about her new job, something about an enterprise, not really sure but its better pay and to her, a better environment than new york but I don't know, you could say I'm in love with the city that never sleeps.
I got up and did everything anyone would do in the morning
"Twenty more minutes, Amor," My mom yelled at me from downstairs.
I grabbed the first hoodie I spotted in my closet and grabbed a pair of thick black leggings from my dresser slipping on my martens, I parted my hair through the middle slicking it back into a ponytail and headed downstairs.
"You ready cali" mom asked as she handed me my bag
"Define ready, mother" I chuckled, swinging my bag over my shoulder and grabbing my phone and keys.
"Sorry" she grabbed my hand. I know she won't be home as often I wish she would but it's okay. It'll be hard to get used to but I'll manage.
"No it's okay, I understand" She pulled me in for a hug, kissing the top of my head. She pulled away almost instantly.
"Be safe amor, I hope everything goes well today," she says as she makes her way out the door to her car.
"Me too, mama, me to," I whispered under my breath watching as she drove away.
8:00
I made my way to my car seeing as I only had fifteen minutes to get to school
"Here goes nothing"***
