Have you ever felt such a undeniable attraction to another human? Like a moth drawn to a flame, a story we all know so well. But what happens when you get too close to that flickering little fire, you get burned right? My name is Emma, welcome to the twisted hell I call life.
Let's take a trip back in time so you can have a better idea of how this all began.

2013

"Promise me Emma, NO BOYS." my mother glares in my direction with her emerald green eyes piercing right through me, waiting impatiently for my response. "Mom, I am only here for the football game. I want to see my friends." I cower, glancing out the window as anxiety submerges my conscience with every crashing wave. "I'm trusting you, call me when you're ready to be picked up." she calmly says as she hugs me and watches as I get out of the car. I take a deep breathe, shaking away the fear of social anxiety that fills me.
"EMMA!" my best friend Leah yells in excitement as she wraps me in her embrace. "That boy over there keeps looking at you." she whispers in my ear, I look up, making direct eye connect with this almost seemingly stranger. "Who is that" I raise a eyebrow to my somewhat taller best friend. "That's Logan, the high school bad boy." she explained. He starts walking towards us, I feel my knees start to buckle. "What's up girl?" the dark haired boy smirks, looking me up and down almost as if he was studying my squeamish behavior. It was almost as if he knew I found him attractive or maybe, just maybe, he was full of himself like most of the guys in this town. "H..Hi." I stutter, I quickly look down as I can almost feel how red my face is getting. "Well, well, considering your face is now my favorite color. I guess that means you like what you see." he says as he lifts my chin with a single finger to make eye contact with him once more. I was never the one to make empty promises to my mom, but there was something about this unknown creature that caught my attention. He couldn't be that "bad" right?
I was honestly at a loss for words. How could it be? How could he completely intoxicate me with a single touch?
"I'm guessing she does." my best friend speaks up for me, since I suddenly decided to go mute. He chuckles and shakes his head, "Can I get your number?" the handsome stranger asks as he hands me his phone. I nod, still not making a sound as i put my contact in and hand the device back to him. "I'll text you." he winks and then walks off into the distance, reuniting with his somewhat rough crowd of friends.
"DO YOU NOT KNOW HOW TO SPEAK!" Leah shouts, I can feel myself starting to blush again so i cover my face. "Do you not know the concept of being quite?" I sigh, rolling my eyes.

That is how it all started, the beginning of the end.
