The small group of friends walked up to the empty coffee shop. It had a small flickering Open neon sign hanging in the front window. It was the only open building on the street. Not even the street lights worked. It was like the setting if a horror movie.
The three walked quickly to the small shop, desperate to know what their friend needed at two in the morning.
Levi checked his phone, no new messages.Levi pov.
I was worried about Eren.
I tried to call him but he hadn't picked up the phone.
Even though I had only officially known him for around 10 hours, I felt a need to know that he was ok, that he was safe.
And I was dreading what we would find when we finally see him again.
The door the shop made a quite bell ring when we all walked threw.
It wasn't that hard to find Eren
He was the only person in the store. Well, I assumed it was him.
We approached the small figure that was huddled in a brown leather jacket, he had on a dark green shirt and a pair of slim fitting dark jeans. But he had his head resting on the table, holding a black coffee cup. His shoulders were sagging, his breathing looked shallow and uneven.
We approached him quietly.
"Eren?" Hanji shook his shoulder. He looked up.
And we all gasped.
His perfect soft pink lips were split and busted, dry blood on them, painting them red.
He had a black eye and his cheek on the same side was bruised and swollen.
I couldn't understand who would do this to a person like Eren.
"W-who?" Hanji was the only one who had found words, she was good at talking.
Eren just shrugged it off and stood up, he tried so hard to act tuff. But we all noticed when winched in pain when he swung his backpack over his shoulder, or the way he limped when he walked. We saw it all.
As we were walking to our cars Eren had decided that he would stay with me.
And I was excited about that.
But, we first had to get the story about what happened.
But, Eren looked battered enough, we didn't want to force him to do anything.
"Eren, sweetheart, " Hanji started, looking at him in concern. His limp had gotten progressively worse while walking.
"We need to get you to a doctor."
He stepped walking, balancing his weight on his uninjured left foot.
"I'm fine." We all shared a look, he was far from fine.
He started to walk again and stopped on the passenger side of my black BMW.
I quickly opened the door for his and waited until he was seated to close it.
I looked over to Hanji and Erwin.
"I'll call you later." They both nodded.
The drive to my house was quiet. I looked over to Eren a couple of times during the long 30-minute drive, to see him staring out the window.
"You know Eren, " he didn't turn his head, "we are all here if you need us," I reassured him.
He only gave a weak nod in response.×|•|•|•|•|×
It had been a few days since 'the incident' as we called it, and Eren hasn't been himself.
He only came out of the guest bedroom that he was staying in at my house if he needed food. Wich in its self wasn't often. His behavior worried us all.
"Maybe we could get him a pet, he told me that he always wanted one," Hanji said, she and Erwin had come over for tea.
"Maybe," I said as I ran my hand through my hair.
"She's right, " I glanced over to Erwin.
We all agreed on what type of animal we would get him.
Hopefully, that would cheer him up.
We could only hope.
