In the large city of Birmingham, Alabama, there was a single lone-standing
Cottage. This cottage, surrounded by large skyscrapers housed the lovely Captain
Klein. A woman, ailed with the inability to walk straight, constantly falling over without
control. She was visited by the mailman who handed her a stack of bills. Her usually
mailman, Chad, was sick that day and his replacement was not aware of her disability.
Captain Klein thanked the man and took the bills. At that moment, her legs gave out and
she fell on her porch with a loud thud. The unfamiliar man began to laugh at her
situation, making her very upset. She picked the bills back up and stumbled back into
her home. In a rage of fury, Captain destroyed her house. Books were torn, glass was
shattered. By the time she had calmed down, her house was in ruins. She fell, once
again, and started to cry. She longed for her to be rid of her curse. Normality wasn't
possible for Klein and after accepting this, she stood up straight. Her expression at that
moment is best described as the face of a soldier running into no man's land. She
stomped out onto her porch and out to her small white picket fence and slammed the
gate door open. Unfortunately all of that stomping had to end at some point and once
again, she fell. She laid on her back for a few seconds before she was confronted by a
small, scrawny old man asking if she was okay. She reassured him of her health and
stood up, using her picket fence to help. The man began to question her.
"Where are you going in such a hurry, miss?"She hesitated before presenting him with her story.
"You won't make it very far like that, I'll come with you." Offered the old man.
They left the next morning. The two met outside of her house. When he showed up he
was holding a cane, decorated with colorful paisley.
"Do you like it? It was my wife's."
"It's lovely, thank you." She answered, taking the crutch.
The two walked together to the cities edge, pausing briefly to say goodbye.
They walked side by side through the forest for what felt to them like miles but
they kept going. Captain Klein had read stories of where the cure is found but in
actuality, they were ill-prepared. Captain Klein quickly became impatient and wanted to
turn back. At that moment, a piece of paper fell at her feet. It read:
"Come you must, for your answers fall ahead."
This gave Captain Klein hope that she could find her cure. The two walked
through cities, plains, forests. The cane that supported Captain Klein's weight was very
useful but occasionally gave out too. The old man, who's name is now known to be
Clive, walked alongside a pool with her. Wobbling past. A large group of kids, known
around this area as fourth period, plunged into the pool. The large splash surprised
Captain Klein who turned to see the commotion. The fast movement of her legs made
them buckle and she fell deep into the pool. At this point, the children were at an
icecream truck and didn't see her frantically splashing. Clive, unable to swim, was no
use. Captain Klein was going to drown. All of a sudden, strong hands gripped her wristand pulled her out of the water. She was met by a pair of glistening purple eyes.
Startled, Captain Klein was unable to speak.
"Are you alright?" Asked a deep, musky voice.
She looked away from his eyes and saw the rest of his face. She had been saved by
Thanos! Her biggest crush.
"Uh, yeah... thank you." She answered, starstruck.
Thanos tipped his fedora and snapped his fingers and disappeared. Clive helped her to
her feet and returned the cane to her hand and they carried on in their journey.
Later that day the pair came across a large fence around the forest, another
letter fell at her feet. This time it was folded into an origami swan.
"That's weird." She proclaimed and the old man agreed. She continued, starting
to read the letter aloud for Clive.
"Your burden will be light as the feather's you should follow."
The two stared at the trail of feathers that started just beyond the gate. The only way
through was through the gate or over the 10 foot fence. Climbing over was impossible
with their current physical states. They were going to give up and see if the fence ever
ends when a raccoon came up to the gate. He looked helpless if you disregarded the
several weapons strapped to his back. They both stared blankly at the raccoon and
suddenly it spoke.
"Why do you come to my gate when your legs are so weak? You think you could
survive the Bird King's wrath? You are so naive. You should turn around before you get
hurt. "Clive and Captain Klein were at a loss for words.
"Please Mr. Raccoon, My friend and I must get into your forest in order to cure
my illness. Show mercy and let us in." Begged Klein.
At that moment, Thanos walked up to the gate.
"Oh, Rocket. Calm down a second. These are my friends." Thanos said with a
wink.
Captain Klein immediately blushed and looked away, making clive rolled his eyes
with disgust. Hesitantly, the raccoon soldier opened up his gate and allowed the pair to
pass. Captain Klein and Clive thanked Thanos and rocket before they continued on their
journey. They followed the trail of feathers closely and noticed the littering start to get
thicker. Not long after they passed through the gate the feathers were up her their
ankles. Captain Klein tripped on a log hidden by the layer of feathers and fell with a
crash. The birds that resided in the tree's were startled by the noise and flew away.
"I give up! We'll never make it to this Bird King guy or whatever!" Captain Klein
exclaimed, frustrated by the lack of outcome.
They heard a twig snap from behind them and turned, only to be met by two pairs of
beady yellow eyes. A pigeons eye, but it couldn't be a pigeon. The bird before them
appeared to be six feet tall and laden thick iron armour. The bird cawed, beckoning five
more birds to his side. It was far too late for them to escape before two of the birds
knocked them each out with a slap of their wing. Captain Klein woke up drowsy and quickly found that her friend wasn't in the
metal bird cage that she occupied. She yelled out for Clive and was answered with a
quiet whisper.
"I'm in the cage below you, do not fear my clumsy friend. My dentures are as
strong as an ox. I'll chew us out of this mess!"
And so he did. Somewhere during this process, Captain Klein was lulled to sleep by the
gnawing of the bars below her. She was woken abruptly by Clive shaking her.
"Come! We have to hurry." He whispered.
Clive lead the way through the halls of Bird King's labyrinth of a castle. Two Pigeons
saw them and ran after them. While they were running away they passed a door where
they heard a squeaky child-like voice. The pigeons were closing in fast but they couldn't
leave the now wailing child alone. They ran in through the door around the corner and
listened until the pigeons had ran past. The child in the room wasn't a child, it was just
Alex Luker. Captain Klein sighed and helped calm him down. At that moment the Bird
King ran in and watched as she comforted the child.
"No!" He squawked.
As the Bird King said his last word, his appearance melted away, leaving a ginger girl,
once known as Briana. The young, not to mention gorgeous, girl had no recollection of
the event and neither did the former bird army members that entered the room. Captain
Klein's kindness saved the occupants of the Bird King's castle but more was yet to
come. After Clive and Captain Klein explained what had happened to the victims Rocket
appeared in front of her, along with thanos and presented her a small glass of purple
liquid.
"The cure you wish for is in that vial. A single tear that Thanos shed will cure you
of any ail you have faced. Congratulations." Said rocket.
As she took the small sip of the cure she her legs were immediately stronger and she
no longer had to use the crutch. She could walk normally now. She returned back to her
cottage, now restored from her initial tantrum that ruined her belongings. This time,
when she came home she was not alone. She was accompanied by her new
companion, thanos.A/N: Unfortunately I cannot take credit for this masterpiece. I am only granted the privilege to share this with the world.
