City of Amino, October of 1971

The detective shut the door to his house and locked it. God, home at last... He thought. Hours of just sitting and waiting for someone to walk in. Usually nobody. He took off his coat and hat.
"Hey honey! Anything new at work today?" His wife asked him.
"Nothing today, Vanilla.. Meh, maybe one day I'll just get a case that some kid stole some other kid's dollar. That would be interesting now would it? Yeah.. I can just imagine it. 'Catbug, that one guy that got that one kid his dollar back. A hero!'" The detective said jokingly.
The wife chuckled. "Yeah. It sure would." She said.
"I'm about to head to bed... Guess I'll see you in the morning or something." Catbug said, walking up the stairs that went to his room.

Catbug walked into his bedroom and laid down on his bed. He pulled the covers over him and slowly faded into a peaceful sleep. But sometimes, when he sleeps, he has visions. The visions he has are usually small and not understandable. Though, they do relate to the future. Such as spilling a cup of coffee. Surely, it would happen to him the next morning.
He had a vision this time, but it was different... He could understand. There were people... They were.....speaking....
"Why do you have to go?" She asked him, with fear in her eyes.
"I.. I can't tell.. I'm sorry." He said. He began to walk into the bright, glowing door to a metal box... some sort of machine.
"Wait!" She suddenly exclaimed, running up to him,
"Let me go with you..." She said. But while seeing this, Catbug couldn't quite grasp what they looked like. It just seemed blurry.
Suddenly Catbug woke up, sweating. Who were those people? What was that box? Catbug couldn't take his mind off of it. He tried to shrug it off and go to work.
He went to work, and there was absolutely nothing to be done. As usual. How could this city have so little crime? He decided not to think about it. But the thoughts about the vision came back. Sigh, too many questions, and nobody to ask them to.

Catbug, one of the most bored people in the city currently, thought, maybe... I deserve a break. I've worked REALLY hard today. He got out of his chair and put on his jacket and hat. And he left his little work center, closing the door behind him.
He went to the nearby coffee shop, where his friend worked. He opened the door.
"Oh, hey Catbug!" The friend said.
"Hey, Stabby." Catbug said back to him.
"Anything new?" Stabby asked him.
"Nope, nothing as usual." Catbug told him.
"I knew you would say that." Stabby said. They sat down at a table and conversed about random things for a little while.
Catbug saw a strange figure enter the shop. They were big and round, and their arms were unusual... They looked like they were almost trying to hide themselves under their clothes. A buttoned up black coat with a black hat, covering their face. They just sat down and kinda just stayed there for awhile. Catbug felt like... it was watching him...
"Hey, Catbug, is something wrong?" Stabby asked him.
"Uh- No! I'm good. Thanks for asking though." Catbug said. Stabby nodded, but then Catbug suddenly leaned in closer, and he whispered to Stabby, "That guy over there, doesn't he seem kinda suspicious?" Catbug asked him. Stabby just had a weird look on his face. Catbug sat back in his seat and looked at the man. The man looked back, and Catbug quickly looked back at Stabby. Stabby scratched his head. The man got out of the chair, and left the coffee shop.
"...What was that all about?" Stabby asked
"Stabby! I think I'm being spied on!" Catbug said suddenly.
Stabby had a look of misbelief on his face. "Catbug, it was just an encounter with someone that looked strange. You don't want to be prejudice against a stranger do you?" Stabby asked him.
Catbug leaned back in his seat. "Yeah! I totally wouldn't, against someone that is familiar AND suspicious, plus they were WATCHING ME!" Catbug scoffed. Stabby rolled his eyes.
"You know I think you ought to be heading home here soon Catbug..." Stabby said
"Oh, you're right. I guess I'll see you tomorrow or something I guess." Catbug said getting out of his seat.
"Seeya Catbug!" Stabby said.
"Seeya." Catbug said back. Catbug opened the door and left, and then headed to his house.

Catbug closed the door to his house and locked it. He took his coat and hat off.
"Hey Catbug," Vanilla said, "Anything new today?" She asked.
"...Yes, something did happen today." Catbug said.
"Ooh! What happened?" Vanilla asked with excitement.
"There was a strange man at the coffee shop today. He was familiar, but suspicious as well.
It almost seemed like he was watching me too..." Catbug said.
"Hmm.. Maybe you actually have a case on your hands for once, haha! We'll just have to see though." Vanilla said.
"Yeah, right. I bet there is something going on. Besides, I'll end up looking into it one way or another." Catbug said back. He went up the stairs to his bedroom and opened the door.
He laid down in his bed and pulled the covers over him.
He slowly drifted off into a heavy, peaceful sleep.
