His hair is a mixture between a brown and a reddish colour. His hair is curly and long enough to be tied back (so it sits about shoulder length) with a fringe that melts in with the length of the rest of his hair. His eyes are a nice shade of blue with feminine eyelashes, giving him a very innocent appearance.
He has multiple noteworthy scars, one through his lower leg from the Battle of Princeton, one through his shoulder from the Battle of Yorktown and a deep scar crossing his upper left arm from his childhood.
In modern AU's, he has a different set of scars, the only similar one being the scar from his child. Rather than musketball scars, he has a prosthetic lower right leg from a peacekeeping mission in Iraq.

His vest and pants are a greyish silver with silver buttons and well, and no embroidery. Backstory🌿 🌱Historical🌱 Jason grew up in the slum suburb of Old Nicholas, London. His family consisted of Stuart Ried (Jason's father. (Real name is Duncan McTavish)), Mary Jensen (Jason's mother), Joshua Victor Ried (Jason's eldest brother by 2 years), Stuart Rory Ried (Jason's younger brother by a year), James Daniel Ried (Younger brother by two years) and Mary Monica Ried (younger sister by 5 years).
When Jason was 5, his mother died giving birth to Mary jr, leaving his father to have to both take care of and provide for 5 children. This was when Jason took a job as chimney sweep to help out his father, as did his elder brother Joshua. This continued on for a few more years until Jason managed to become a jewellers apprentice when he was 13. Around this time, Stuart took a job up as a hit man after still struggling to provide, no matter how hard he worked in any job he attempted. He was successful, and as much as he hated this job, he kept going for 8 years, until he was caught and hung, leaving a ridiculous inheritance for Jason.
At the time of Stuart's hanging, Jason was starting to become successful. He was a practising jeweller, and had moved out of home. However, with this massive inheritance, Jason blew it all. He gambled it away, and spent it on unnecessary luxuries such as foreign fruits. Within a year, he was broke. It was about this time that word of war had started to spread the country, giving Jason an idea. As soon as Jason could enlist in the army, he enlisted. He knew it wouldn't be a permanent solution, however it would get him out of the country, and away from people who he owed gambling money to. . 🌱Modern🌱 Jason was born in Enfield, London, with the same family as his Historical counterpart. He grew up fairly normal apart from his dysfunctional family- his mother dying at s young age, and his father busy with his illegal job as a hitman. Once Jason was old enough, he dropped out of school and got an apprenticeship.
It was around this time when Stuart Sr's job was discovered, being jailed for life. Jason, finding it too stressful with the trial happening. Suddenly, he realised he needed to do something with his life, joining the military and being deployed to Iraq as a part of a piece keeping operation. Daniel joined along side with his brother, although he was deployed to another part of Iraq. It was during one of Jason's peace keeping operations that Jason lost his leg, after trying to get as many citizens as he could out of a terrorist attack.
Jason was honourably discharged from the military after he lost his leg. He struggled to readjust to life back home in Enfield, his PTSD not helping at all with the readjustment. He decided he needed yet another (but less dangerous) change of scenery, moving to New York. .
