The two friends enter the cave they saw the Plasma grunts run into. The grunts notice their pursuers.
Grunt 1: what are you doing here?!
Hilda: we want you to give back that Pokemon you stole!
Grunt 2: No! she will only let it stay weak! the Pokemon will be sad because of that!
Hilbert: oh and your so much better you hypocritical bunch?! you steal Pokemon but you don't release them out in the wild! how is that so much better?!
Grunt 1: shut up kid! you don't know the harsh reality of the world!
Hilda: this conversation is getting us nowhere! just hand the Pokemon over and we'll allow you to go without being arrested!
Grunt 2: no, you are going to hand YOUR Pokemon to us! Lets battle! Patrat go!
Grunt 1: Go Patrat!
Hilbert: you ready?
Hilda: always.
Hilbert: Pidove come on out!
Hilda: Lillipup, come and fight with me!
Hilbert's newly caught Pidove comes to the stage to battle, Lillipup jumps up, ready for battle.
Grunt 1: use Bite!
Grunt 2: follow up with Tackle!
Hilbert: Pidove, up in the air!
Hilda: Lillipup, run towards them!
Pidove evades them with having air control, Lillipup runs towards the advancing opponents.
Hilbert: now use Gust!
Pidove flaps its wings and manages to create a floating stage, Lillipup jumps on it and the Patrats fail to hit it.
Hilbert: now use Leer!
Hilda: you too Lillipup!
Leer lowers the defenses.
Grunt 1: how do we get up on that stage?!
Hilbert: simply, you don't. Now use Quick Attack!
Hilda: Lillipup, help him with Tackle!
Pidove begins glowing white, it then flies towards its enemies who suddendly get a Lillipup in the stomach. Pidove hits the one Lillipup missed and the two slides back.
Hilbert: now use Gust and keep going!
Hilda: stand your ground Lillipup!
Pidove once again flaps its wings and creates gust that goes towards Patrat.
Grunts: Detect!
The Patrats form a shield around each other, rendering Gust useless.
Hilda: what?!
Hilbert: Detect, its a move similar to Protect. only that Detect has a higher chance of failing. seems these idiots were lucky. But we have the advantage of being able to destroy their precious shield. Pidove use Quick Attack until the shield falls!
Hilda: Lillipup! spam Tackle until the shield breakes!
And true to Hilbert's words the shield can break. While the two smash on it repeatedly. on their final attack the shield shatters. and they get squashed together by their enemies attacking at the same time.
Patrat faints and the victors begins walking towards the grunts. Still holding hands without noticing it.
Hilbert: now hand the Pokemon over!
Grunt 1: fine. have the stupid Pokemon. its sure useless as both off you.
Suddendly they hear sounds behind them. The grunts turn around and sees Pokemon there.
Hilbert: these are new.
Hilbert takes up his Pokedex and scans the new Pokemon.
Pokedex: Roggenrola, the Mantle Pokémon. Roggenrola's body contains an energy core which is hard as steel from being compressed underground.
Pokedex: Drillbur the Subterrene Pokémon, It can dig through the ground at a speed of 30 mph. It could give a car running aboveground a good race.
Grunts: what do you want?!
The Pokemon then attack the grunts with Sand attack, Mud-Slap and other attacks. maybe because of how rude they were. When the grunts finally flee the Pokemon turns towards Hilbert and Hilda.
The teens keep ahold of each others hands while slowly backing away in fear of what they're about to do.
Odly, Roggenrola suddendly runs over to Hilbert and nuzles with his leg, Drillbur then bows down to Hilda like she would have been a goddess.
The two friends give a surprised look at each other when seeing this. But the two slowly understand that the Pokemon want to go with them.
Hilbert(though a little confused) catches Roggenrola while Hilda becomes the owner of a Drillbur.
Hilbert: well that was kinda weird.
Hilda: it was. but at least we got new friends and the girls Pokemon back.
Hilbert takes the Pokeball that belongs to the girl, then the two friends exit the cave still hand in hand without noticing it.
They return the Pokemon to the girl, she in return gives Hilbert and Hilda Heal Balls as a reward. Bianca takes the girl home and our friends are free to continue their journey.
Wrapping up yet another chapter off this book.
