It's sad how people nowadays do everything with their nose buried in their phones. Like everywhere you go you see them typing away, updating status, messaging away, stalking each other's profile, FB, Instagram..etc etc etc....
I groaned when a women bump into me in the streets.
"Bitch watch where your going" she hissed and waltz her way towards a bar."Rude" I scoffed.
A teen walking in the streets while typing away in his phone and smiling creepily, he made his way towards the zebra crossing. Not even stopping or looking to see if the road is clear he walked straight to the crossing almost getting ran over by a car, luckily the car stopped in time just before it hit him.
"Can't you see a pedestrian crossing here asshole?!" he shouted to the owner of the car, an old man with his wife sitting in the passenger seat with a worried look.
"Sorry son next time I'll be careful" the old man said.
If I was the one driving, I would've ran the boy over ten times while saying
"Oops sorry didn't see you there mind if I let you be so you can die in a slow and painful death" I scoffed replaying the scene over and over again so I won't go there and beat the shit out of him for being disrespectful."Yeah yeah drive along old man, I think your not even fit to be driving you should be in the old people's home" he said with a bored tone.
That's it, I am going to teach this piece of shit a lesson.
I walked towards him and grab his cell out of his hands."Hey!.." he started but I interrupted him.
"Apologize asshole" I growled.
"Hell no, who the fuck are you" he asked with a scowl.
"Talk to me like that again pretty boy and I'll smash your phone on that post" I said pointing at a lamppost behind him.
He glared at me and approach the car.
He sigh and leaned down towards the driver's seat and knock on the window.
The window rolled down the old man was smiling widely to the boy."Look I want to apologise for my earlier behaviour, I was being rude and disrespectful and I'm really sorry" he said with a bored tone.
Oh wow this asshole not even that sincere and I know that the couple in the car could see it.
"It's okay son, it was my fault" the old man said.
The boy just nodded and continue his way back and the vehicle went pass.
Once he is stood in front of me with a sour look he held out his hand.
I rolled my eyes and scoffed."Hey...I apologised now you can give my phone back" he growled.
"Yeah a shitty apology and a shitty phone with a shitty owner" I mumble and handed him his phone back.
He smiled and held out his hand again. I stare at it in confusion and he chuckle."I'm Tony and this is called a handshake" he said slowly like talking to a baby.
He continued talking when I didn't shake his hand or introduce myself.
"Handshake is an act of shaking one's...."he continues but I cut him off."I know what a handshake is...Tony" I spat.
"Hey can I..." he didn't finish his sentence because I was lost again in the sea of people.
I quickly made my way towards an alley and fished out Clive's cell from my jeans pocket.
Clive handed me his phone earlier so I can use while he goes back to the hospital so he can get back my phone and the purse.I quickly dial Caleb's number and with three rings he picked up.
"Who the fuck is this" he growled.
Oh wow even in the phone he sounds like a log is shoved up his ass.
"Ca...Caleb its me Ruby" I whispered.
"You bitch why are you calling me, you called the Sheriff on me when I didn't even do shit to you and told Clive to kick me out "he growled.
"No babe I didn't....I didn't do any of that, I woke up in the hospital with bruises and the doc..." I didn't finish my sentence because he interrupted.
"Save it Ruby I don't give two flying fucks, just stay the fuck away from me" he hissed.
"Babe come back to bed, who are you talking to?" a female voice said in the background and I gasp.
This fucker is already cheating on me...Oh wow
"Don't worry Caleb I won't bother you again" I spat and was about to end the call but he spoke again.
"You are so naive" he chuckle.
"What?" I ask.
"I only dated you because of your money, I didn't love you, hell I didn't even like you..I just had to put up with your shit because your the daughter of the famous Marcus and Juliet Watkins...the rich business couples in the state" he said and laughed darkly.
"W..what?" I stutter.
"See...I was even cheating on you when we moved in that shitty apartment" he chuckle.
I don't know why I am listening to him, I should just end the call but something just kept me from doing it, maybe because I wanted an apology or waiting to say that all of this was a bad..bad joke.
"So all of that was fake...you helping me with my depression and running away with me..and..and" I sobbed.
"Oh Ruby, I thought with us two running away we will be living in a mansion and taking some of your parents money when your dearest mother offered but no, you being your stubborn bitch self didn't want to" he scoffed.
"But..but I love you" I whispered.
"Yeah cause your an idiot" he chuckle and ended the call.
I stare at the wall with the phone still clasp in my hand pressed firmly on my right ear with silent tears.
"Fuck you Caleb Mackenzie" I screamed and flung the phone towards the wall and it cracked into pieces.
I gasp "Clive is going to kill me" I whispered while picking up the pieces and shove it in the nearest dumpster.
I walk back towards the streets and made my way towards the bank.
He thought I had no money. I just didn't want to use my parent's money, that's why I work my arse off in that coffee shop.
I went towards the lady in the front desk and her eyes widen, another spy from my "lovely" parents, note the sarcasm.I rolled my eyes "Give it"
She nodded quickly and handed me an envelop filled with cash mother dearest send.
I saw the clock on the wall and it reads 2:30pm.
Oh wow times flies fast.
I exited the building and saw the women I bumped into exit the bar swaying a little.I grinned and made my way towards the bar with an envelop full of cash waiting to be wasted and forget today ever happened.
But little did she know that today was a beginning of something that could change her life...
