"Yue, you're already 25. Can't you please find a mate now for yourself and marry off so I can have grandchildren of my own?", my mom mumbled early in the morning.

Well, sorry Mom. I don't really care about marriage and stuff and marrying your precious daughter off would be pure disaster. Come on, I'm way too workaholic, I spend all of my time in my office and I couldn't even go out during my day offs since I have been sleeping the entire day. There's no way I can ever find time for a man in my life and have babies with him. I can't even let go of my work! Plus, I have priorities.

"Mom, rather than marrying me off to some guy who'll one day fail me, I'd rather starve myself to death. Plus, I'm already fine with my life. I have other goals to achieve, too!", I said in reply.

"Woman, you have been saying all of those things for the last 5 years. I considered it the first time that you said it since you wanted to build a house of your own and have a car. But now that everything's already here, why can't you find yourself a man?", my mom exclaimed in disbelief.

I wouldn't wonder why she would be this frustrated. She has already set me up with a couple of guys. Most of them were pretty good-looking. If I were to choose 5 men among the rest, it would be Ivan, Travis, Hugh, Drew and Peter. Name sounds good, huh? But all of those men got way too many flaws to begin with. Let's go from the very least in line.

5. Peter - He's nice. A civil engineer who's earning 100,000 per month. He has good looks and pretty impressive body build. But he's very possessive, controlling and demanding. He wants the upperhand and I feel like if I'd give in, he's be so dominant in the relationship that I won't have freedom.

4. Drew - A pilot. He is a son of my mom's close friend. He is very polite. He earns a lot in a month, too. But I never really knew exactly how much. Issue? He is such a mama's boy. He can't decide on his own. Our first date was even insisted by his mom, which he later pursued since he liked me. I like a man who has a sense of responsibility and better judgment.

3. Hugh - This was an almost. He courted me for 5 months and I almost said 'yes'. He has oozing sex appeal. He is moreno. He has chinky eyes. Defect? Too much of a play boy. He only wants flings and dating mature women aren't his thing. I was disappointed actually. I told him to stop when I accidentally answered his phone with a "Robert" name calling on it, only to hear a moaning girl saying "Babe, I'm horny. Come at my place." (literally rolls eyes)

2. Travis - Dreamy. Creative. Passionate. He's working as a publication editor in a famous house. He earns a lot in a month and even almost got me a car as a gift; which I declined to receive. I didn't want him to pursue me because he was too good to be true. I knew something was up, so I investigated and found out he only dated me because I was eligible for him based on finances.

1. Ivan - Well, had to say really great about this guy. He's a choreographer and bank manager. Has a very masculine body build and really into workouts. Reason for not being with him? Flirty. He has tons of flings and is not really into self-improvement (except physically)

See what I mean? God knows how much I tried but I just couldn't and the circumstances won't let me.

"And I wonder if I could ever see or have a grandson from you", my mom dramatically said.
