"There. Now you look as good as new", says Mrs. Shen. She was not sure who was this woman in front of her. She only knows her name. Though she doesn't feel threatened by her presence, there seems to be something quite different with this woman.
"Is there a smudge on my face or am I too good-looking for you to stare?", Mrs. Shen laughingly said to lighten the atmosphere. The woman simply smiled at her. It was not scary at all, it was comforting as if their eyes were communicating heart-to-heart.
"You can call me Lilian if that bothers you a lot. It's nice to have a coffee with a friend while she treats your wound," and finally, the heavy atmosphere was gone. Both women were finally seeing each other like they were no strangers at all.
"Your name sounds really pretty like you. My name Alice. I'm Alice Shen"
"Alice? That's lovely, too. It sounds quite modern and feminine."
Both women were complimenting each other and finally started to talk about each other's lives. It didn't strike to them that both were already getting quite comfortable with each other. They feel like they can trust each other since they had similar interests with one another. Both of them were sophisticated but were humble individuals.
"Alice, I can't help but ask of you this. But do you have a daughter?", Lilian asked out of nowhere. When Lilian asked about her daughter, Alice felt the pain inside of her heart which worries her a lot. Poor Yueyue, how can she find someone to marry if she is not even looking? She has already set a lot of guys for her but she seems aloof with these people.
"Yes, Lilian. I do have one lovely daughter. Sadly, she isn't married yet. No matter how much I persuade her to find a man to be with her for the rest of her life, I just couldn't. If only I could force her to marry with someone else then I would have", Alice laughed out loud with such silly thought. To her, Yueyue's happiness was hers as well. She wanted her daughter to be safe.
"Then, would you like to do that?", Alice was about to reply with a laugh with her friend's suggestion but she realized that she wasn't joking at all. She saw how sincere and serious Lilian was and as much as she wanted to avoid it, she couldn't help but ask more about her friend's proposal.
"I know I must have shocked you. Who am I anyway? I am just someone you met today, but like you I am also worried that my son may never get the chance to be married. I am also setting him up with several girls, but none of them seems to gain his attention. My husband and I are growing old. We have no relatives to entrust him with. He is at the peak of his success in the show business, but he is not living his life. If you'd like to take my offer, Alice, I would like your daughter to become my son's wife", Lilian said. Alice was shocked, but what struck her more is the fact that she knows this face and she is very familiar with her!
"You are Lilian Wang! You are the mother of the most famous celebrity here in China who has a gross income of over 500 million dollars! You are the mother of Dylan Wang!", Alice couldn't believe her eyes. How could she even forget? Dylan Wang was a dashing bachelor of his generation that even women of her age would be head over heels for! How could she ever forget her beautiful mother who sometimes appear in his shows and would also capture the hearts of the male viewers because of her beauty?
"I thought you wouldn't recognize. But still, I am serious. You know how busy my son is that he has no time to think of anything aside from work. What's even harder for him is that he is the top celebrity here in China. His life is always an open book and his love life is no exception. Will you take my offer still?"
"Lilian, I am truly amazed by how much you showed sincerity towards me and for considering my Yueyue to be Dylan's bride. But marriage isn't a child's play. It should be something planned properly and be decided well. Both kids may be in the right age, but aren't we forcing them into something they have no idea about?"
Clearly, Alice had a point. Dylan and Yue barely even know each other, how can they mothers allow their fates to be tangled this way? But to Lilian, this was the best way she saw possible for her son. She wanted him to be happy and she has this gut feeling that she can trust Alice's daughter as much as she entrusted her life to her when she was almost nabbed.
"I find no mistake with what you say Alice. But rather than allowing our children to be single for the rest of their lives or getting them married to people we do not even know, can't we just trust each other and our children with this? You can trust me Alice. Fixed marriages don't always end up wrong, you know. Some people also fall in love throughout the marriage. This could be our chance."
Lilian was right. They weren't getting any younger. They also wanted to set their children off with the right people in life. They also want them to be happy with someone whom they can share their life with. This seems quite wrong but honestly, it feels right for Alice. She finds it in her heart to trust Lilian Wang whom she has just met! But this was it. This is the beginning of a life-changing decision on both of their families.
"Okay, Lilian. Let's do it. This is fate we are talking about here. If they couldn't find each other's love, then it should be our job as mothers to assure that they'd be taken cared of before we depart from this world", Alice finally said. This made her heart lighter and even gave so much joy to Lilian. Finally, she found the right person for her Didi.
"But how should we do it Lilian? Both of them don't even know each other. For sure they will try to say no to our proposal! There is no way those children will allow us to do this. Probably they would rebel against us!", said Alice. It was true. Knowing how strong-spirited Yueyue is and how stubborn Dylan is, then it would be an abort mission for both moms if the kids new their plan. They certainly wouldn't agree.
"Alice, you do know this isn't fixed marriage right? This is FORCED MARRIAGE", Lilian said brilliantly. As if on cue, Alice read her mind and understood the plan. She may not know how Lilian Wang will do it, but knowing her, nothing is impossible.
"I have an idea!", the great Lilian Wang said.

Hello guys! I'm sorry if it took me almost a week to give you this new update. I had quite a busy week so I wasn't able to get back to you. I hope you like this update. Since we'll be having our midterms next next week, I will do my best to continually update as long as I have the luxury of time to do so.
