Chapter 11 ~ The Book

It was the afternoon, I was sitting on the couch in the library when suddenly Adam walked in. "Oh, hey Ian. I didn't expect you to be here." Adam said with a smile as he walked over to me. "Oh, hi Adam. Are you okay?" I said noticing a cut on Adam's palm, I still wanted to make sure everyone didn't try to kill each other. It would be hard, not impossible. "Huh? Oh, yeah I'm fine. Just a scrape from this morning when I cut myself cutting up my breakfast with a kitchen knife, y'know?" I nodded.

"Hey, why don't you sit down? I found this really good book. I wanted to show everyone but I haven't found a good time yet." Adam nodded, taking a seat next to me as I opened the book about everyone. I flipped to the page that showed a picture of us, all original thirteen of us, in the school smiling. "Hey, what's that? It looks like......" Adam eyed the picture in curiosity. "Us." I said, looking at him. "It's us. I think we may have known each other before all this, I don't know though considering I would've remembered." Adam nodded, flipping the page for me to a picture of himself in a living room area with a woman, man, and little girl sitting around him. "Huh?" He said, looking at the picture. "Adam, Ultimate Parodist. Known for calling 'Gold' 'Butter' and hating Squids. I chose him for the game because he stood out when I viewed all the available Ultimates." I read aloud. "Yep. I do hate those squids. But.....butter? Eh, it does seem like something I'd do!" Adam said with a chuckle.

"Something tells me that we weren't meant to find this book. It seems to vital that Nomis would put it here for anyone to see when it contains crutial information." I pointed out, Adam nodding. "Hey, Adam? Does it seem like you known Ty for a while?" I asked, curious to get the answer. "Well.....Yeah really I guess." He said, looking at me in questioning. "Well, look." I said, flipping to the page of all thirteen of us again. The picture showed Ty being on Adam's shoulder, both smiling like all of us. Seto and Brice stood together also, as if they'd known each other for a long time. "Whoa...." Adam said in awe. "Maybe......maybe we did know each other before this. But, still." he said, standing up. "I would've remembered." I nodded as he left the library, most likely thinking everything over.

The next morning I went straight to the library and started to look around, not paying anyone else any mind or showing up for breakfast. "I wonder if there's another floor....." I muttered to myself. Suddenly, as if out of nowhere, Nomis appeared. "Hiya buddy! Did you say....another floor?" Nomis said with a foul grin apon his sly face. "Y-yeah." I stuttered. "Well, I'll let ya in on a secret! There's another floor buddy, and I can show ya it but you can't tell anyone, Early Access y'know?" Nomis said with a laugh, so there was another floor. "S-sure...:" I said, stuttering again as Nomis made an elevator appear infront of us. We both entered it, going up two levels then stopping. The Library must've been tall if we had to go up two levels to get to the next floor.

"Welcome to The Chemistry Room! Home of all my brews,potions,everything! Enjoy yourself buddy, and here." Nomis handed me a key like symbol. "That's how your gonna be able to get here without my help. I recommend hiding it, y'know?" Nomis said with a wink as he vanished into a puff of green smoke. Coughing from the smoke I looked around, hundreds --no thousands-- of brewing stands and cauldrons surrounded the room along with an enchanting table in the middle of the room surrounded by books. Why would Nomis giveme of all people access to a floor that provided this kind of stuff? To prompt me to kill?

Overwhelmed, I walked towards the brew stands. There were chests by them, containing glass bottles, ingredients, and potions recipe books. I was curious so I took one of the books and flipped the book to a page titled Potion of Poison then looked at the ingredients in the chest, this whole room could be the cause of the next murderif someone else got in here anyways. Sighing I put the book back and walked over to the Enchantment Table, thousands of ancient symbols flew out of the surrounding books and into the table, it looked beautiful. In awe I opened the book on the table, it was written in an ancient launguage only someone like Seto would be able to read. After looking around some more, I left the way Nomis had showed me how to go get breakfast or lunch, I had lost track of the time and I was very hungry.
