I looked up from my steak when I felt the cushion under me shift as it readjusted to the weight of the man taking a seat next to me. He looked to be well into his forties, balding with eyes capable of scaring a grown man. His clothing was new and he smelled of whiskey with a hint of lime. The man dropped his arm around my shoulder. "Ever heard of the demon king?" he slurred into my ear. I glared at him and shook his arm away.

"Leave me alone," I said while pushing him away. He did not seem affected by my request he just sat there and started speaking again.

"This masked murder and his gang have been killing all over the town." His eyes started to water. "I need you to do a job for me,"  Kane Hughe, a rich investor pleaded. "please, Erika they killed my wife and my son." Kane slid a hundred dollar bill on to the table. I glanced around to see how far away the exit door of the restaurant was. It was on the other side of the restaurant, nearly a two-minute run. I was ready to make a run for it when I felt cold metal against my leg. Shaking I looked down to see Kane holding a gun, his finger hovering over the trigger. "I need you to kill him. No one would suspect you, a seventeen-year-old girl to attempt to murder the demon king.

"W-w-why me," I stammered. I tear fell from my eye.

"You can either do this or I will just have to pay your father a visit. Drug dealing is not a safe business to be in. Your dad should have thought this through before associating with others. I could go to the police and get him arrested for his career choice." He pulled the gun away and started to stand up. "I'd rather you go and probably die than send one of my men to their death. I will send one of my employes to collect you in the morning. Just like that, he left. As soon as I saw him set foot outside I made a mad dash towards the opposite exit. Running past people made them stare and behind me I heard some shout.

"ERIKA!" A member from Kane's gang yelled. "Don't think about telling." I was to afraid to move. With each step he was taking towards me I was willing my legs to move backwards but when I finally to a unstable step backwards I ran into a wall. No not a wall a man. I flung my self around to see another one of his men. He grabbed my arm and ruffling jerked me towards the exit.

"It seems that the boss didn't trust you. He sent us to make sure you got home and did not contact anyone." His voice was rough and I couldn't help but stare at the scar across his face. He had tattoos all down his neck with hair the colour of the nigh sky. A limo polled up and the guy I ran into earlier shoved me into the backseat and then sat himself down next to me. The tattooed man got in to the front seat of the limousine. There is a wall put up separating the front from the back of the car.

"I'm sorry that this has happened to you. I was taken in to this gang when my parents died. It was this or a orphanage. I don't want to hurt anyone but I am stuck in this gang." He seemed genuinely sympathetic. His hair was light brown with his green eyes his faces looked kind. You would think he was harmless until you noticed his muscles body that look liked he could squash you with his fist. "Caleb" he stuck his hand out. When he saw I was not going to shake it he retreated and ran a hand through his hair. The car came to a stop outside my house

"Well thanks for the ride but I should get going" I opened the door and took my keys out from my pocket to unlock the house. I felt as if I was being watched. Stepping inside I was closing the door when it hit a foot.

"Boss gave the orders" Caleb announced stepping inside. He took his coat off and reached inside his pocket. Fear hit me, was he gonna shoot me? I exhaled when he just took out a piece of paper.

"What is that" Caleb handed me the note.

"It's a list. Pack everything that is on in. Nothing more nothing less." His voice sounded less friendlier then it did before I rejected his handshake. "Go now, I'm waiting. We leave in an hour." He said with no emotion taking a seat on the couch.

"Kane said I had till tomorrow! This isn't fair. My parents will wonder where I am. I can't just leave." Caleb just glared at me. His stare turned to the tv watching a football game. Without turning his back he held a second note in the air.

"Take it. Leave it on the counter your dad will find it. He will think your safe and camping for awhile with some friends." I started to unfold it. "Don't open it" Caleb yelled over his shoulder. "Put it on the counter." I set it down and went up stairs. Time to find a bag.

After gathering the items on the list I headed down stairs. "I'm ready." Caleb led me to the car.
