—the one where they connect
—February 26, 1976There are multiple definitions for the word connection, but there was only one that applied to Brian and Cassie. Not the action of linking something together, but a relationship in which two people have the same idea or feeling.
Lying in a dream-like haze, starring at the cars roofing on top of the three boys resting her head on Brian's lap, and her legs at Deakys lap listening to her brother talking with the boys whilst driving to their house.
The boys and her brother had made up as if nothing had happened except for the redness that is still present on Rogers jaw.
As she continues back to ignoring the boys, she begins to notice Brian's body as her head lays on his lap. The way his right hand is tightly gripping the car door handle tightly that his hands has turned white in what frustration. She smirks deviously as she realizes what's going on, and attempts to make her head 'comfortable' by moving it around.
His legs shoot out against the front Freddie's seat who is sitting beside Atlas, and forces pressure upon his thighs.
Roger seems to notice his friends tenseness and asks his friend if everything is alright. "Hey Brian, you alright?" Brian only reply is a grunt which was enough for Roger to leave him be.
As another sixty seconds go by with a pale Brian attempting to keep everything under control, but fails feeling like a Mexican coke that has been shaken and about to explode. "Can we stop at a gas station quickly? I need to use the loo." He asks gathering enough strength to avoid asking in a moan.
"Sure, there's one coming up here around this corner." Atlas takes a hard turn towards to the right, and the yellow bright lettered gas station comes into view.
As Atlas is pulling into a parking spot in front of the store, Brian unlocks the door not waiting for Atlas to stop the car jumping out and fast walking inside.
Atlas turns back at his sister for an explanation for Brian's what he hopes is abnormal behavior, but is only met with a shrug with a smile on her face pretending not to know the reasons behind Brian's actions.
The boys decide to get out of the car as well still being famished only drinking beer at the pub due to not having a chance of ordering food all wandering off in the gas station store into their own sections that will in hopes fill them up.
John stands holding a bag of bread in his hand searching for cheese in the refrigerated aisle for him to spread on his bread. He hears the sounds of footsteps approaching him, and notices his friends face had been a little pale before leaving the car in a hurry but is somewhat filled with a glow now.
"Brian," Deaky begins questioning his friend while inspecting the cheese in front of him, "do I want to know what has just happened in that bathroom?"
