Eliza's POV:
I dashed out of my seat, pausing at my office door. Wondering if it was actually a good idea to just run into the waiting room with some unknown man in there. Most likely not, but I mean who knows, his voice comes off as safe and assuring, though I can tell even through that, that his voice is wavering and cracking. I continued on my way out of my office and down the hallway past all of the patients rooms in a sprint. As I shoved through the door to the office I seen the most heart wrenching scene played out before me. A striking man around my age, holding a German Shepard, that appears to have been severely injured, HIS German Shepard it would appear as they're both in matching uniforms. My heart plummets to floor as a tidal wave of sorrow washes over me, my only thoughts hoping and praying that I can save his faithful companion. He has tears pouring down his face, and heart break written all over him. He's watching the dog that he has nourished and raised from a puppy that had floppy ears and a goofy personality, and loved giving all of the smooches, to a skilled and mannered and strong giant, fall apart before him. Both are covered head to toe in grime and mud, scratches and bruises, equally depending on each other for both to be alright. Even under all of the grime and chaos around us, I have a fleeing thought that the man is strikingly handsome. It passes right over me though as my only focus is trying to save the sweetheart of an animal before me, wagging his tail and giving a soft look towards us both regardless of the suffering he's enduring. I rush him back into one of the rooms as I urge the man " Go out into the office, there's a list of numbers with names on them, call Gracie and Waylon back to the office, tell them Eliza will explain as they get here". He gives a hesitant look, as if not wanting to leave his pup, but replies with a simple "Alright..", I reassure him "I promise, I will do everything I can to try to save your boy, I just need you to call them and you're welcome to come right back in and stay, he needs you with him." He offers out a half smile and quickly dash's out the room back towards the office.
I begin to asses the situation laid out before me, realizes quickly that it doesn't look all that great, not at all in fact. He's covered head to tail in dirt and has scratches and gashes littering his body that needs stitches. He's lost enough blood to need a transfusion, but that comes with a decent risk in itself. It's uncommon to need to do transfusion's on dogs, and it poses a risk of passing on infections and diseases, though he might not make it without it.. It appears that his leg could possibly be fractured, and would need to be casted, and he's clearly suffering from pulmonary contusion, appearing in his difficulties to breathe and the horrifying wheezing sound coming out of him. None of it looks all to good for him, but I vowed that I will do my best to save him, and that's exactly what I'm aiming to accomplish. The man dashed back through the door, and says that they're both on their way. He asked a worried question, coming out in a wobbling voice, deep and afraid, and tears still holding in his eyes, similar to when you're watching clouds during a harsh storm churn and swirl, and you're just waiting for the harsh coldness of rain to crash down around you,  "Do you believe that he'll make it? He has to right..? He's the most important thing to me in this world..." I try my best to give him a hopeful smile, even though I'm sure he could tell it doesn't quite reach my eyes. I reply with a voice as steady and calm as I can try to be "Honest answer? I'm not sure. I can't make any promises, but me and my team are going to try their best to give your boy a fighting chance." Just as in replying, I can hear both Gracie and Waylon swing the front doors open, jogging towards our room, ready to take action, not realizing what's waiting for them through the doors, just knowing it's not good.
