2. New School

After what seems like an eternity, our driver pulls up out the front of some more iron gates. Behind the gates are four lots of three story buildings with hallways connecting them.

Sky holds the door open for me and the two of us approach the gate and talk into the box on the brick so that the office ladies open the gate for us.

After a short while a woman's voice comes through the box.

“Identify yourselves please.”

“Uh… hey it's Sjy Takahashi and Courtney Himura. We're the new transfer students…” Sky explains.

“Very well, welcome to Akiyama High School. We are a prestigious private school who want the very best for our students. Please enter and come and see me at the front desk for your lockers, itinerary and school map. One of our high achieving students will show you around.” with that the box beeped and the gate began to slide open.

I took a deep breath and followed after Sky down the footpath towards the front building where the office was located. A woman with blonde hair and glasses sat behind the desk typing away on her computer.

She lifted her head up in acknowledgment once she heard us approach.

“Why hello Miss Himura and Mr Takahashi. Here are your locker combinations, school maps and itineraries. Miss Nakano will show you around and explain everything.”

After receiving our items we thanked the lady and turned to face Miss Nakano.

“Hello and welcome to our school. My name is Dilmi Nakano. Please call me Dilmi. I will be your tour guide today.” the girl, Dilmi has a light brown complexion with long black frizzy hair and brown eyes. She has a very friendly attitude about her and seems very kind.

“Hey, the names Sky Takahashi and this is my girlfriend Courtney Himura.” Sky says as he slides an arm across my shoulders. At his statement I can feel my face going bright red and Dilmi raises an eyebrow with a smirk.

“Th-That's not true Sky! Don't start telling lies!” I exclaim. Both Sky and Dilmi chuckle.

“She got me… I'm not her boyfriend, just childhood friends. Although, I wouldn't mind dating her.” Sky responds with a smirk.

“J-Just shut up and let Dilmi show us around idiot!” I shout, still blushing.

“Alright let's go.” Dilmi says as she turns on her heel and walks down the corridor before us. Her long wavy black hair is fastened in a high pigtail tied with a tartan ribbon which matches the uniform as she walks her hair sways from left to right. “On the first floor we have the pool, gym, library, auditorium and cafeteria.” Dilmi begins as we pass each door down the hall with a plaque staring what is inside the room.

Dilmi showed us the pool first it was an eight lane lap pool that went all the way down the room.

“In here we have change rooms allocated to both boys and girls. Each change room has showers and toilets.” Dilmi explains as she gestures towards two doors on the far left of the pool room. One has a symbol for boys and the other for girls.

We left the pool room and headed into the gym. “Here is where our students play basketball and a few other indoor sports, through the doors to the left are the soccer and baseball fields.” Dilmi explains.

“Whoah, I could get used to this.” Sky states with a wide grin.

“Oh! I almost forgot to mention, there are also change rooms in the gym allocated to boys and girls… the next room is my favourite.” Dilmi continues as we leave the gym and come across a sign that says Library. “I spend all of my free time here. It's such a relaxing environment.”
