Dust and Ashes

She ran as fast as she could through the thick grey forest. Her pale face covered in blood. Even without my super sense of hearing, I would be able to hear her. No one would her hear cries though, except whoever was hunting her and I. Speak of the devil. A guy who looked about my age appeared next to her. His fangs glistened in the moon light as he sank them into her neck. Her screams stopped almost immediately. He smirked as her soft blue eyes closed. I ran to her after the guy had gone. She opened her eyes and gave me a weak smile, as I pushed her red hair from her face. I could save her I knew I could. My fangs exposed themselves. Just as I was about to bite my wrist, she shook her head.

"Please don't try to save me." She coughed up some blood.

"Why?"

"Because...I don't want this anymore."

I looked at her confused so she went on.

"I want to be free. I want my pain to end." her smile looked weak.

"Why would you want to die? What made you want this?"

"My dad would beat me. He blamed me for my mothers death. She died in a car accident. Kids at school would push me down the stairs. They would laugh and point at my burns, call me emo." Tears formed in her.

"Your life is triadic. I could take you away from all of this. I could make you like me and give you a new life. If I let you die it would be a tragedy."

She smiles a real smile "No. I would rather not. Please don't think of my death as a tragedy, it's not that simple."

I held her hand tightly and nodded. She pointed to my tattoo that showed up  a week ago. It was of a black rose with the letters A, M, B on it.

"I have that tattoo to!" She pointed to her side and went on "It's my name. Alice Marie Bronx."

Alice coughed up more blood. I held tighter on her hand. She only had a few more minutes left. Her smile grew bigger "I don't know you, but I trust you. Please watch over my brother...." Alice closed her eyes and never opened them again.
