Not everyone is at peace with vampires. A vampire hunter's job was to get rid of us and to kill us. They used a variety of different weapons:

Worryingly, I have found a few of these left behind by the old owners of my house. I also catch glimpses dressed in hunter clothing:

So it seems I live in an old vampire hunter family's home. Yay. Ghosts can't hurt you, right? Right?!
A famous vampire hunter called a Dhampir was said to be the child of a human and a vampire. They were human and like most, had a huge hate for us. They were said to be incredibly powerful. Even though one of their parents was vampire, they didn't have any problems with sunlight. One of the most famous weapons was the plant named Vervain:

According to legend, Abraham Lincoln was once a vampire hunter.
