We both walked to Archie's table across from the diner and the first thing I noticed was the height difference between us. I looked like a small child next to him. We got to the table and I noticed there were three other people there. One was a girl that had a blonde ponytail slicked back and bright green eyes. She wore a bright pink sweater and a light gloss on her lips. Next to her was a dark haired girl that wore pearls, a dark lipstick, and wore a dress. She obviously has lots of money, or her family did. Then in the booth across from the two girls was a boy. He had raven hair and wore beanie. He also had bluish-green eyes and very strong features. He was beautiful, just like Archie.
"Hey guys, this is Mia. Is it okay if she sits with us. She's new to town," Announced Archie to the rest of them.
"Sure, I guess," Said the rich girl with a dirty look towards me.
"It's fine with me," Said ponytail with a bright smile.
"Of course," Said the boy looking at me up and down.
I sat down next to the boy and then Archie sat next to me. We all just stared at each other in silence and it soon got awkward. Finally the boy broke the silence.
"So, Mia, you're new here?"
"Yeah, today's my first day here," I told him, awkward and nervousness dripping from every word.
"Well, you're in luck that you met us then," Said ponytail, butting in.
"I'm Betty, and this is Veronica," She told me as she pointed to the girl next to her.
"And the boy next to you is Jugh-"
"I'm Jughead. It's nice to meet you," The boy, or the so-called Jughead said, cutting Betty off.
"It's nice to meet you guys," I said with a small smile.
I already liked everyone in this group, they all seemed nice. Well, except Veronica. I don't think she was very happy with me being there because she didn't utter one word to me this whole time but, she sure gave me enough nasty looks. For the next hour we all sat there and got to know each other more. This whole group was amazing and I loved them already. In the middle of Archie telling a story I got a glance at the time and noticed it was super late and that my parents probably thought I ran away or something.
"Hey, it was really nice meeting all of you but I think I should get going. My parents are going to murder me," I announced with small chuckle to the group.
They all muttered a small bye and I got up to leave. I walked out of the diner and heard the bell ding. I was in the middle of the parking lot and then heard the bell ring again. I looked behind me and seen a certain red head jogging towards me. I stopped and waited for him to catch up with me.
"Do you want me to walk you home? It's pretty late," He said to me.
"Sure! I would love that, seeing as I don't really know my way around this town."
We both laughed I little at what I said and continued walking. As we were walking, I noticed once again how tall Archie was.
"It's not fair you know," I thought out loud.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean you're like super tall and I'm like super short. I can't reach anything but I bet you can."
"I mean that is true but, hey, every ones different. As corny as it sounds."
"I guess so."
The rest of the walk to my house was in a comfortable silence. I think Archie and I were going to be great friends. We got to my soon then.
"This is my stop," I told him.
"Okay. I was great meeting you Mia."
"Same to you Arch," I said over my shoulder walking up to my porch.
---The next day---
I woke up early because it was the first day of school. I was sad that I had to go to the new school but I'm sort of excited because I get to see all of my new friends. I hope everything goes well. I got dressed into a red summer dress that has yellow printed flowers on it. It had thin straps and small buttons down the middle of it. I also put on some black slip on Vans and grabbed my bag. I got downstairs and as usual my mom was still sleeping and my dad was already off to work. I made some eggs and toast and sat in silence as I ate. I thought about all the friends I left in LA and a pang of pain went thorough my whole body. I missed them so so so much. I looked at the time and seen I had to go so, I went out my front door and off to school I went. I got there and the hallways were super crowded. I felt like the wall were closing in on me but, I just kept pushing through the crowd trying to find the main office to go get my schedule. I found it after a few minutes and went up to the desk.
"Hi, I'm new here and came to pick up my schedule" I said to the lady.
"What's your name?" She asked me.
"Mia Snow"
"Yes, here's your schedule."
"Thank you," I told her with a smile.
I walked out of the main office and as I did the first bell rang. Shoot, I was late to class already. I walked into my first class. I got in there and every ones head turned towards me. Great, I was the center of attention, just my luck. I said sorry to the teacher and hurried to the seat in the back of the class.
---A couple hours later---
It was lunch, finally. I tried to find any of the gang I met last night and finally I did. I sat down next to Jughead and said a small hi to everyone.
"Hey, Mia, can I talk to you a quick minute," Said Veronica to me.
"Yeah, sure," I replied.
We both got up and walked over to one of the girls bathrooms nearby.
"So what's up?" I questioned.
"I know what you're doing Mia," She said with anger.
"What do you mean?"
"How you're trying to wrap Archie around your little finger. I see right through your plan and I don't know what you want from him but you better stop right now. Because you know what, he's not yours he's mine."
"Woah, Ronnie where is all of this coming from?" I said in shock.
"You heard me didn't you? And don't call me that, only friends call me that."
"Okay I'm sorry. I don't know what I did."
"Just stay away from him!" She finally said and and stomped out of the bathroom.
I went back to the lunchroom and grabbed all of my things. After that I went into one of the courtyards and sat down trying not to cry. It was just like my last school, where I only had a few friends. But now, I don't have any. At that point I let a few tears out and, a few tears turned into a lot and soon I was balling my eyes out.
"Hey, Mia. What happened back there. Mia? What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Came a familiar voice that I knew. I turned around to find a certain boy.
