Legends and Curses (A BFDI/BFB AU)

Just Another Day

-Blocky-

"Whats taking you so long man?"

I could hear Pen's voice above me, as well as the sound of dirt hitting the ground. I shot him a glance, before tossing the shovel down, quickly making a gesture towards the hole I was...currently standing in.

"Dude, can't you wait?! I'm trying to dig past this- rock? Boulder? Whatever it is!"

"Can't we just get Marker? He does like to dig after all." Eraser chimed in, casually sitting on the edge of the hole.

I rolled my eyes.

"For the last time- this is MY prank that I will be making for the OTHER teams. I don't need any help!"

"Cmon man, we've been doing this for a while now- how about we go hang out? You can bring Grassy along if you want."

"We can go get some food from Gelatin's steakhouse! Blocky!"

I grunted. I thought they wanted to help make this perfect! You know, the supposed 'prank of the season'!

Guess not.

Well, maybe they're just bored. They have gotten what he needed for it anyways.

It was a perfect day for a prank. The sun was high up in the sky, there's barely any clouds up ahead, and, the cherry on top of it all? A gentle, cool breeze that whispered the fall season's return to Goiky.

It's been a while since the last challenge, too. And because of that, everything had been really slow around here, wether its between the teams, friends, or even everyone in general. We just feel out in the zone, with nothing else to do out here. 

The lab rats had their noses buried into the books- the girls gossiping and crying, and whatever it is girls do- and, my personal favorite- the couples who prance around and think the world would like to bathe within the glowing radius of their successful love life.

Cruel, ain't it? Don't come at my neck about it. I mean, you must have been there too, right?

In the deepest pits of rock bottom, surrounded by joy but unable to find joy yourself! And you cry yourself to sleep, knowing that the reason you don't have anyone is your god-awful personality and your terrible sense of humor, and throw in a pinch of your poor looks in as well. 

Now THAT was cruel. Here I am, digging in my own little crater, surrounded by the peace and joy from others that is out of my reach! And there you are- staring at the screen, reading about what goes on in my maelstrom that I call my mind- but believe me, its hard to see everyone around you with their partner in crime, while you have no choice but to press play three on the control of life. 

Okay...that took a bit of a turn. I'm sure you're a wonderful person. You got friends by your side, and a loving family thats got your back no matter what. 

Who cares if you don't have a special someone yet? There's a whole life you got ahead of you- don't put yourself down too much. I got ya. 

As for me, I'm becoming more content with the way I am now. I have a wonderful son- who also has a mom-figure in his life- a pretty chill team, and my pals who always hang with me, even if were on completely different teams than before.

Ugh, the sappiness. Like I said before,  It's just another day in Goiky. 

I sighed, eventually grabbing the shovel and slowly digging out the dirt underneath me.

"Here- if it makes you want to come along, I'll pay for us- the four of us!"

"My guy- aren't you still in debt or something?" I shot him a glance, and his confident little attitude quickly shriveled up as he remembered.
