Tremendous Sacrifice

Chapter 15

"How long have I been out?" I asked quietly.

It was like I did not have a voice. It was hoarse and rough. Madam Pomfrey gave me a glass of water and Albus spoke up,

"You have been out for a few days my dear. How are you feeling? You gave us a scare."

"I am not sure. I seem okay. I'm just a little scratched up. But who cares about a few more scars?" I shared.

I saw the look on the teachers faces. They did not like how I said that. But it was true. I did not care about all that. As long as I was alive, I did not care about the scars. I gave them a smile and said,

"Please don't give me that look. I have been through enough to think of my scars as a story of my life. They are part of me. It shows that I have been through a lot and I came out alive."

Albus nodded and smiled.

"We are glad you are alright. You did a number on Hogsmeade. That was impressive. Everyone in the Order was worried about you and so were your friends." Albus said.

I nodded and then asked,

"How is Ginny and Luna? They must be so worried about me. Can I see them?"

"Of course, my dear. We will go and get them. They have been concerned but their friends have been there to support them. We did not tell them much. They do not know that you are here. We thought it might be a good idea not saying anything until you woke up." McGonagall explained.

I understood where she came from. But right now, all I was worried about was my two best friends. I wanted to see them, and I wanted to see them now. I watched McGonagall leave to go and receive them. I sighed and laid back on my pillow.

I waited in silence for McGonagall to bring Ginny and Luna to see me. It was so quiet in the hospital wing. I was probably the only one here. I sighed and heard footsteps running to me. I knew who those footsteps belonged to. Right then the curtain around me flied open and there stood Ginny and Luna. They both ran up to me and hugged me. I was so glad to see them.

"Are you alright? How are you feeling? How did this happen? Why does this always happen to you? Can't you go one day without getting kidnapped?" Both Ginny and Luna questioned me.

I gave them both a look and they sat down and asked me a question at a time. I listened to all their concerns and questions before answering any of them.

"Alright, first I am alright. Just a little scratched and beaten up. Secondly, I don't know what happened and to the comment about me being kidnapped. I do not always get kidnapped. That's so rude." I said to them.

We all started to laugh, and I smiled to them. Luna took my hand and said,

"Well, we are just glad you are alright. We were so worried about you. Regulus and Severus keeps asking us if we heard anything. They will be so pleased to hear that you are alright. Plus, the Marauders will be glad to hear you are alright as well."

"Wait the Marauders were worried about me? Really?" I asked shocked.

Ginny nodded and said,

"They are the ones that been there for us when you disappeared and kept us going. I know you don't see eye to eye with them, but they were so worried about you. Even Sirius."

I could not believe what I was hearing. This could not be true. I just shrugged it off and sighed. Madam Pomfrey came in and said,

"There are a few gentlemen hear to see you Hermione dear."

I nodded and Ginny spoke up and said,

"I guess the whole school already knows what happened to you and it's been going around."

"I guess so. I mean I am not surprised. News travels around here so quickly, thanks to the ghosts and moving pictures. They are all so nose." I said.

That made Ginny and Luna smile and laugh. I was expecting for Regulus and Severus to show up but it was not them. There stood the Marauders. I looked over to Ginny and Luna surprised.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"We wanted to see how you were. We are glad you are alright. Everyone has been worried about you." James spoke up.

"Thanks for visiting. I am doing better. Just a little scratched up and beaten up. But nothing that bad." I shared.

"Nothing that bad. Hermione you were kidnapped and beaten up. Plus, you somehow escaped on your own. I mean that is impressive and crazy at the same time." James stated.

I just shrugged. It really wasn't that impressive, but I also had to remember that they don't know the danger that is happening outside these walls. They don't know much about the war or any of that yet.

"I guess I just thought quickly and used my instinct to get me out of this danger." I shared.

They just gave me a look and then Remus spoke up,

"Well, you are incredible in our eyes and probably the whole school."

I could feel a blush on my face appear. Right then the curtain opened some more. There stood Regulus and Severus. I gave them a smile and then said,

"Hi boys."

"Are you alright? You gave us a scare." Regulus stated.

I nodded and then I looked over to the Marauders. They had this look and the worse was Sirius' look. I then looked over to Regulus and Severus, they had similar looks. I couldn't help but let a snicker out. Ginny and Luna looked over to me and smiled.

"What's so funny Mione?" Regulus asked with a raised eyebrow.

I gave a look to the boys and then said,

"Did you all smell something bad or is your face like stuck like that?"

Ginny and Luna started to laugh. Luna spoke up first,

"You all are scowling at each other and it looks like your smelt something bad."

"You all look ridiculous. But thanks for the good laugh." Ginny said with a laugh.

I looked over and saw Regulus smirking at Ginny. I knew that would be a ship I would totally put together. I tried to sit up and look around.

"Sirius will stop looking at your brother like you are going to kill him. They are my two closest friends and if you lot are going to be around you better be nice or at least decent to them." I stated.

Remus spoke up and said,

"I think it is time for Hermione to get some rest. Glad you are alright. We will come back and visit later. See you in the common room Ginny and Luna."

He grabbed James and Sirius and left. I turned to Regulus and Severus and knew that they were going to question me. I answered their question with the best of my ability. They left and I was just left with Ginny and Luna. They turned to me and both had this look on their faces. I sighed and said,

"It was tough, but I survived. I will be alright. I promise you both."

"Please don't scare us like that again. You almost gave us a heart attack. We were so worried about you." Ginny said giving me another hug.

I nodded and promised them both. We sat here in silence and I felt my eyes slowly falling. I let my mind wonder into my dreams. It was a long day.
