A train ran through the forest of the Forever Fall. It was adorned with the Schnee Dust Company logo and Atlesian security. This was the same train, that (Y/N) was after. However, he was not standing atop a hill overlooking it. Atop of it, a man that looked very similar to our protagonist --but he wore a blue coat, had slicked back hair, and carried a distinctly Eastern blade -- stood there in solitude. His name was Vergil, and he was looking for the same thing.

Vergil: "Humans . . . they can't possibly comprehend the item that they hold on that train. No matter, they just made it easier for me to collect." He then looks towards the caboose of the train and sees two figures, battling with the security. The White Fang. This was no matter to him; it just meant there might be two more people he would have to cut down. He draws his sword, making a cross slash which creates a portal. He enters and finds himself in one of the cargo cabs. He could feel the demonic power calling to him. His eyes then fall onto a shipping crate labelled Project: Beowulf. He walks over to hit and, with a quick slash, cuts open the top of the box. He hears footsteps approach from behind him, but pays it no mind.

???: "Intruder! Identify yourself!" A spectral sword then appears near Vergil and fires at the guard, plastering him to the wall.

Vergil: "Scum." He focuses his attention back to the contents of the crate, and it was not what he was looking for.

However, it still did contain demonic energy, and he did not feel content with leaving this in the care of humans

However, it still did contain demonic energy, and he did not feel content with leaving this in the care of humans. He put on the gauntlets and greaves, and they began to glow with a white light. He punched and kicked several other crates, testing the speed and power of his new found weapons until he was satisfied.

Vergil: "Boxes are all well and fun, but let's go into true combat." He walked to the door and punched it, knocking it free from its hinges. He finds that the cab he had just entered was full of androids, combat ready.

Vergil: "I doubt you all will be a worthy test, but it'll be a suitable warm-up." One fired at him, but he disappeared from sight, similarly to how (Y/N) did in fights. He appeared behind it, punching it straight through with a charged up hit. He delivers a quick kick behind him, taking out another. He then leaps into the air and delivers a swift dive kick down, taking out several others. This continues for about 30 seconds, and he stands above the wreckage of his enemies, spinning one of his spectral blades on the tip of his finger.

Vergil: "Hardly worth my time." He draws his blade, cutting through the ceiling and jumping through. He stands atop and sees that the two were right behind him, battling some sort of metal spider gear. He decides to watch and see what they do. The spider droid begins to charge up a energy beam, and the girl jumps to the side only to run past it. She leaps up to where Vergil is, appearing cautious to him, but he pays her no mind at all. He could sense her fear, allowing her to pass by doing nothing. She runs past him as he watches the mech fire off the projectile. The man absorbs the force of the attack into his blade, drawing it into himself. The droid leaps at him, and he then lashes out, destroying the mech. He attempts to look for his companion only to find that she is long gone.

Vergil: "Impressive. You might be worth my time." He says readying his new weapons.

???: "Who are you?" However, Vergil quickly established his offensive move by delivering a swift punch to his gut, sending him flying backwards. He quickly regained his footing and dashed towards the man in blue. He fired his blade from his gun-sheath, which Vergil blocks and knocks the sword into the air. It's owner leaps up and catches it, using his momentum to gain a height advantage. He takes several wild slashes at him until the clash their blades to a halt.

Vergil: "Self-taught, and not half bad." He then knocks his opponent back, firing a barrage of spectral swords at him and forcing the masked man to block all the attacks. Little did he know, he was only powering him up. He then stops, and sheathes his sword.

???: "What the hell are you doing?!"

Vergil: "I'm growing tired of this. Allow me to give you the chance to show me your motivation." He taunts him by flicking his hand. The man under the mask sheaths his blade, and his hair begins to glow a bright red.

???: "Don't tell me what to do, you weak human!!" He then lashes out with his blade, releasing a wave of red energy at the man. He simply smirks and cuts it in half, surprising the red haired man.

Vergil (distorted voice): "Human? If only. The power I hold is far beyond the grasp of what any human could achieve." His eyes glow red as he performs a quick-draw slash, and suddenly the man is struck by several invisible slashes. He drops to the ground, drained of his aura. Vergil takes several steps forward before stopping at his fallen opponent.

???: "H-How . . . could I lose . . . everything?" He asks in a hollow voice, thinking on the result of this battle and the loss of his partner.

Vergil: "You are right about one thing. Humans are weak, but you still fight for a cause that believes in being equal to humans."

???: "Wha-What?"

Vergil: "Cast away your feelings of empathy and love; it makes you human. If you hold on to them, you will never gain the power you need. That is why you lost." He then picks him up by the collar and drags him to the edge of the train.

Vergil: "Come find me when you've thrown out those feelings." He says before throwing him off. As he falls down, he watches Vergil disappear through a portal as the train begins to explode.

-Time skip-

(Y/N) had arrived just after the explosion. He sat, leaned against his bike, looking at the destruction laid out in front of him.

(Y/N): "Man . . . I'll never find it in this mess, besides its probably destroyed and useless now. Might as well go back home and wait til then." Little did he know, the object was not destroyed, but taken by none other than his twin brother, whom he had believed to be dead. It seems fate had a greater plan, and if destiny would have it, their paths would cross, just as their blades would.
