Prologue:

It had been a week.

Only one single measly week.

7 days.

168 hours.

10,080 minutes.

604,800 seconds.

Just one week since her entire life had shattered, sending her into complete and utter darkness.

Darkness so dark, that within a second of a match being lit, the flame would die out, so dark that any idea of hope would stay sealed inside Pandora’s box while the horrors of the world unleashed their terror on the innocent.

Impending doom was in her mind.

‘Hello?’ she called out to no one in particular, ‘Is there anybody out there?’

As she stood up, she looked around the room in which she had been sitting.

She was in the centre of a room with white walls covering all sides, she peered closer at the walls, they had some kind of a soft, cushiony coat.

She looked down at herself.

She was wearing a straitjacket.

She was in a mental institution.
