"She got away?" Liam questioned, speaking into the phone "What do you mean you lost her?" he snapped "Well, find her, Niall" he ordered "No I can't just drive all the way to-"
"Liam" Louis cut in, half panting from their extravaganza
Liam ignored him, continuing to speak to Niall down the phone "I don't care!" He replied "You're closer, you need to do it"
"Liam-"
"Just a second, Louis" Batman said, hardly sparing Louis a glance "Have it done within the hour or I swear to god I'll-"
"I'll do it" Louis cut in
Liam turned to him, blinking in confusion "Are you out of your mind?" He questioned, finally giving Louis his attention "Niall, I'll call you back" he said, ending the call quickly
"I can do it" Louis repeated
Liam scoffed, shaking his head immediately "No way, Louis" he replied "Do you know how dangerous she is?" He quizzed "She'll kill you without any warning" he stated
Louis' brows furrowed, eyeing Liam "I can take her down" he promised "Just give me a chance" he pleaded
"I said no, Louis" Liam said "End of discussion" he finished
Louis let out a soft huff "Then what am I to do?" He questioned
"You are to go home and relax" Liam answered "You've done enough for today, alright?" He said "You were a great help" he promised
Louis sighed at this "And where are you going?" He asked
"To carry on with this" Liam replied "Ridding the world of bad guys and shit" he clarified
"Why can't I help?" Louis questioned
Liam shook his head "Police said the next one's a gruesome scene" he admitted "Some guy was strung up in a slaughterhouse with a fuck load of dead animals around him" he explained
Louis blinked at this, lips parted for a couple of seconds before he spoke "I can handle it" he said slowly
"Louis" Liam replied "The man was Lucas Sinclair, one of the prison guards at Arkham asylum" he stated
Louis let out a soft sigh of realisation "Then it was..." he trailed off
"Yeah" Liam confirmed "Yeah it was the joker" he clarified "So you should go home" he said
"Liam" Louis muttered
"Louis" Liam replied, tone teasing "Please, go home" he said
Louis finally nodded "Alright" he said "But only this once" he added and Liam smiled
"This once" the brown eyed man repeated as Louis rolled his eyes, the two of them finally parting as Louis turned to begin his walk home

The separation was short lived and Louis wasn't alone for long; for there was someone all too familiar lurking in the shadows
Louis turned quickly as he felt a presence behind him, catching a glimpse of someone or something moving around him
Louis tilted his head, stepping closer to where the movement was coming from, but then there was sound from behind him and he spun around to look at where it was coming from
